We have a team that is interested in building a Hendershot Generator. We are having a significant amount of trouble finding the Elko's Tm-58 pyramid Capacitors. If anyone has any links or company addresses where we might find this and the Vertcally Oscillating Transformers from a vintage Television we would greatly appreciate the input. Looking froward to any help we can get. Thank You Vincent

Hi Vincent,
I don't know anything about the capacitors you are asking about as I have never heard of them before. However I do know about TV's as I worked on them for several years. What you are wanting is the vertical output transformer. As far as I know there is no such thing as a vertically oscillating transformer. The vertical output transformer was used to drive the deflection yoke which moved the electron beam from top to bottom of the screen. In the days of tube type TV's they had a ratio of 5 to 1 which is I think what you are looking for. Fair Radio Sales in Ohio has a lot of surplus equipment and they may have something close to what you are looking for. They have a web site but I did not look up the link before posting this so you will have to look for it. I hope this information is some help to you.
Respectfully, CarrollJust because someone disagrees with you does NOT make them your enemy. We can disagree without attacking someone.

Thank you very much for this info. I've been searching all over for these parts. What I have been wondering is if i can make the capacitor out of same length peices of tin foil. Then create the same rating of capacitance by using insulating material of the same thickness between the collectors and plate. It seems like a possibility to me. I haven't found any links on the net that tells how other experimenters are building the interior capacitor for the hendershot coil. Since this is the main component i really don't want to "cobble up" something so vital to the process. I'll try "Fair" this week for sure.
thanks again Vincent
