Thank you, i think i need to look into this alot more, i didnt know if i should be making the generator with a 240v output or like you say 12v with a gridtie and inverter. Is there any loss from using an inverter?

For some valuable information on generators and wind or solar electrical production go to www.Thebackshed/com.contents They also have a how to section on generators. Good Luck. stealth

        Stator Coils

You can same some effort by buying a stator coil already made for low RPM. Check out Misouri Wind and Solar.

Thanks guys, you have given me a lot to think about

My plan is to have these on down hill water mains pipes going into towns and citys, (not from a pumped reservoir)

I understand there will be some loss of water flow but im confident that it would hardly be notice

          Thanks Dave

            Things to remember

Make sure that the magnet bearings at the bottom are strong enough for the usage rate or each generator is low torque. Otherwise it could clamp down and lock-up during heavy usage. Sure the bearing would unlock during low usage BUT enough impacts could damage the bearings themselves. I envisioned these same kinds of plans when I was young but I was seeing it as a pump.

PS Having a way to bypass them for maintenance might be good, as strong magnets will jerk minerals out of the water and could cause build-up.

i know what you mean but i want to set the helix screw to the pitch of max flow so that dosnt happen, a tighter pitch on the screw will slow the water flow and thats what im trying to avoid, also im with you on the bypass

I am not an expert, but I have done some research and have put in Solar Panels, Wind Generator, along with Swtor Gold large battery bank and a High Amp Altenator on my sailboat. That gives me some experience.
