Ive built a newman motor, bedini ssg and a few others. I am now very intersted in building a lindemann rotart attraction motor. Does any one know where i can get a good motor to use for it? What appliance around the house can i take it out of or where i can get a new one and/ or what kind is acceptable and would give good results? If you have the answer im looking for please steer me in the right direction.

Well from my viewing of Electric Motor Secrets and reading of much of the thread (both awhile ago) I'm not sure that there's a good off the shelf motor for this. The people who were building the rotary attraction motors (seems some great success at the end of the thread posted a few days ago!) fabricated their own motors as far as I know. In his demonstration video, Dr. Lindemann used a series wound DC motor off the shelf, but this was to demonstrate its principles but I think was not a fully done version capable of really high efficiency.
If you're interested Dr. Lindemann also shared his concept for a "Regenerative Pulse Motor" from a common Permanent magnet DC motor in the
Lockridge Device thread (several successive posts cover the idea). This concept he says is suitable for these common motors and basically involves rewinding the rotor and adding another set of brushes. I've made the 4-pole "scooter" version from this 24 volt scooter motor that is talked about later in the thread but have not tested it properly yet.
Take care,
Mike
