  • Calculating the solar radiation

I am trying to calculate the incident radiation on a tilted solar module. It is a fixed module and the angle is manually changed three times a year. I have the longitude and latitude of the location. I also have the TMY data provided by NREL. Since it is not my specialty (I am an Electrical/Industrial Engineer), I would appreciate if someone can help me with this.

    Hi Sawhi

Tracking through the day is the way to go.

The Info I have got re: our Solar Heliostats we call Sunflowers

take the total wattage available per sq m * the Cos : IE the degrees relative to the Sun.
    In my case 1412 * Cos 69 = 506 W sq M that is on Dec 21

Hope that is of some help
    Peter
