Getting Past Cogging With Asymmetry?

Duncan,
I went to the link (but didn't watch the videos). If both plates have the same number of magnets, aren't they just going to cog? However, if the plates are asymmetrical - say with eight mangets on one and seven or nine on the other- I'm wondering if this might be a way to keep things spinning. Just a thought. I haven't built it and maybe there are other principles involved.

My ears have been plugged for a long time especially with regard to magnet and harmonic ou. simply, harmonics subtract from the fundamental and magnets like gravity have roughly equal attraction and repulsion forces that result in a net gain of zero at 100%eff. In order to change that one needs to add power to disturb that equilibrium.

Making a magnetic engine is possible but unless ya learn to make where the flux is flying to your advantage at all times it's not going to move anything but itself.
