  • DC tesla coil using internal topload Van de Graaff biasing

I propose a Tesla coil topload sphere containing a Van de Graaff sphere inside of it, being as large as possible in relation to the outer sphere while maintaining electrical isolation between the same, either through insulation or minimized charging voltage and/or a reduced size.

I believe this will act to bias the Tesla coil topload and allow a DC offset of the coil, enabling new interesting experiments to be conducted with high voltage high frequency pulsed DC and impulses.

I've got some time on my hands, some money to spend on parts, some test equipment, and better knowledge of electronics, so it's time to start building.

if you use discontinuous dc it will distort to look more like ac due to ring around currents. I expect that would make top hat calcs very involved.
