I think you hit the nail on the head and most people have been spending far too much time watching movies and surfing the net. Which may be why their all worked up about higher bandwidth. I'm quite sure they would love to discard reality for their fluffy little online world of make believe where their all a ten foot tall genius who's bullet proof.

However the reality of it is were stuck here and anybody who thinks we can just wreck this planet, our home, and move on is a lunatic in my books. I live and breath science and technology however I also work in the industry. There is a minor disconnect between what people say is possible in the near future and what we have in place a bit larger than the grand canyon. So for me it is a bit comical how people buy into the hype which will most likely never see the light of day. However their not really interested in the light of day and prefer sitting in front of an electron tube with moving dots in a dimmly lit room

In fact it gets worse and most of the people I deal with are barely capable of keeping what we have working let alone building anything new... kind of like the old space shuttle program, lol.

In other news the central U.S. is turning into a desert and the record temperatures are forecast to continue for a decade or so. This coupled with the fact they have no water and barely enough power to keep the lights on is not a good sign. My "religion" is data protection..... Well, GETTING it that fast is one thing, storing it on a SSD or 7200RPM hard drive is another.


Ive got 230 or so hard drives (yeah, crazy, I know).


Do NOT trust any HD, store all my important stuff on 100 year archival DVD+R , Taiyo Yuden etc.


Either way buffering data FAR FAR FAR faster than you can store it to your drive is awesome news.

At first this tech (obviously) will be for local networks, Govt etc etc, then expand.

The problem with this line of thinking is that no superpower nor person has ever withstood the test of time. Oh the egomaniacs may come and go but all wither away and die eventually...it is the way it is. They cry this cannot happen to me as they gasp their last breath never understanding they were a self-rightious fool and that there are things which are not for sale at any price.

So go on pretending you have it all under control for it won't be long and it will all be taken from you as me and everyone else...it is the way it is no gods nor religion required. America, Canada etc... are relatively young at less than a couple hundred years and we can be sure they and everything they believe to be immortal will not stand the test of time. Why some prior civilizations have lasted thousands of years and yet they all met the same fate. They probably thought just like us but sometimes there is no saving people from themselves.

cant even get out of you what way it works, wired or wireless. maybe a cpu upgrade on the wired side. but still bottlenecked by hardrives. even if it was just the ethernet connection side, your still bottlenecked by the amount of STORAGE space you have to store then to utilize and use this.
