That got your attention didn`t it?The title of this thread is correct though.Check out the planetary gear reduction drive around the stator on these things.Amazing!

If that is true, its astounding.

I think the term "Protein machines of irreducible complexity" says it all. It puts a nail in the coffin of Darwinism and makes a mockery of religious texts.

I know I will get attacked for that statement but a god that could do that aint an angry bearded white guy in the sky as in the bible texts.

It does seem to show conscious design in a way that cant be explained by the simplistic texts of religion, demonstrating that those words are the words of men and not god.

There is no wonder that the geeks of nanotech bot technology are so excited and I understand why now. Obviously the nanotech robot is a possibility. I have seen articles about protein machines before but that photomicrograph really did look like a machine, my chin hit the floor.

Maybe this is one of the reasons why many scientists have turned to religion as a possible explanation as it does smack of a creator or creators. Its not often I jump off the fence and make a statement like that

    Nice find

Indeed.I`m not religious by any conventional standard but one has to see intelligence there, if this isn`t an elaborate hoax. Either way it`s a thing of beauty.

        Im not religious either.

Most of the advanced technology we see today is actually 50 years old or more, good examples being the Tesla type weapons being used and why we are studying his work on this forum. Imagine if we were using Rifes microscope to look at those bacteria, how much more would we see?

I usually take the animations produced to explain biology with a pinch of salt, but there is something about that picture that is compelling. Im not sure that planetary gears are what we see there, as it could just as easily be something like nano muscles causing a contraction one after the other, again resulting in an apparent rotary whip of the tail, and yes it does look like it was designed.

I have been looking up the debate over intelligent design and I can see the basic floor in the argument, but the the proposed counter argument is too week in my opinion to dismiss the flagellum as being not designed and just a project of natural selection, because a number of parts would have to be added simultaneously with no apparent reason before the motor function would work.

Hence the stalemate in the argument.

            The point here is this:-

What selection process would result in the assembly of the similar looking, but less complex appendage in the other bacterium?

What selection process would result in sufficient modifications to that appendage to make a rotary motor?

Was the other appendage a result of a simplification of the motor and if so, why were so many parts removed and why would natural selection do this?

You see you have to look at this both ways.

Looking to dismantle the intelligent design argument, we have to ask are there any other examples of a rotary motor in nature that are not of this design? This would indicate a choice, If not why not? etc etc

Logical argument will always favour natural selection, a logic based theorem in the absence of evidence, and an illogical argument is by its nature flawed, but the very existence of this appears to be illogical and that favours creation or design. The problem here is that design also demands logic. What is missing here is proof of any kind, so there is no way to win the argument one way or another.

My opinion is that it is too complex and too unique to be a result of a series of random events that just happened to be of benefit to this life form. Its like setting a bomb off in a junk yard and accidentally assembling an 1965 corvette stingray as a result.

Wowee I didn`t realize the damn thing had a clutch too. That settles it!Is anyone reverse engineering these systems I wonder? The thing must have a hell of a power source if it has a motor that can instantly spin up to 100,000 rpm.Imagine the thrust you would get on the macro scale with such a beast!I think there is a heck of a lot we can learn from these things.

Too bad you have NO IDEA that the Golden ratio was used by the Platonists as proof AGAINST Creationistic 'intelligent design'.

There is nobody living on this earth that has done MORE research into this topic (yes, that is the case) of the Pythagorean Aoristos Dyad ('golden section') .

The many creationists who ATTEMPT to use the golden section to prop up Creationism
are committing far worse than a horrible ERR.

                      Its an outright pathetic absurdity
