Stepper Motor SPS Charger
This seems to really work. Preliminary results look like 20 to 1. We'll see. I'm not in front of it at the moment, but I'll give the details of the parts that I used as a starting place. I don't think these parts are critical, but I always like to get something to start with myself.
I got the "Splitting the Positive" terminology from Bedini and Grey. I agree with you, Matt, but I haven't seen many people using a second Positive to "ground" to, so it helps me to explain to people how things can be engineered differently.
I have been using Chrome on this sight with pretty good results.
OK guys, let's get out there and stir up some dust.

Hi shylo,
Hopefully you are not using windows OS? Too many hacks possible to misdirect, even anti virus companies in cahoots to censor sites now. If using firefox browser, go to tools, add ons and install ad blocker and get rid of pop ups saying you won something.
Best not to use window OS. I use small linux program called puppy linux, version slacko 5.5 here:
Tahrpup CE is Released - Releases - Puppy Linux News
Puppy linux runs in ram and is very fast. Don't even have to install, but run from usb stick on any computer. Works great on my 8 year old laptop. If you have newer laptop try this puppy linux:
Has easier interface and better media player. Tahrpup CE is Released - Releases - Puppy Linux News
Hope this helps,
Chris

Back to my last post...
The first time that I ran this setup, in 30 minutes the Primary dropped .01V and the Charge battery went up .19V. Then I had to leave, so I left it running. After 7 hours, I stopped it, set those batteries aside to rest till morning, and started another run with other batteries to run over night. Since that first 30 minutes, every other run has been loosing!
I've seen this too many times now and I don't get it. Maybe someone can illucidate.
Below are the two circuits. They run, they charge, but no OU so far.

Using the single battery setup from the above post, I've run numerous tests without much to report except...
Over a 30 minute test, the voltage would drop about .02v, the amps would drop from 450mA to 430mA, BUT the rpm goes up from around 1652 rpm to 1836 rpm! It's freaking me out. The input drops and the rpm goes up.
I tune the setup by running the motor fast, then adjust the pot to a "sweet spot" where the amps increase if I add or subtract resistance on the input. This is the lowest amp draw with the motor rpm high. (This motor seems to run in only one speed range, or it runs down and stops.)
The changes in voltage, mAs, and rpm all happen gradually and steadily over the time of the test.
