    But can the heat trapped from the Plexiglas going through the generator equal the power loss from the 5 -15% drop in light from the Plexiglas.

    Maybe the thing to do is seal the panels and the space behind them and use that heat to turn the generator.

    Just a thought.

      If you are going to trap heat, you would want black plastic panels rather than clear.
      There is new technology out there which is a glass material that will be replacing the windows on your home. It acts as a solar panel so ALL windows convert the light to electricity From what I have read, it is more efficient than current solar technology. They showed in at the latest Technology conference here in the Silicon Valley. I'll see if I can find the link somewhere. Here it is: SolarWindow - New Energy Technologies Inc
