As you correctly state: Energy (Joules) = Power (Watts) x Time (seconds)
Then you write:
J1 = W1 x RPM1 / 60
Let's write that out for a better understanding:
Joules1 = Watts1 x (rotations per minute)1 / 60
The last divide by 60 we can incorporate as follows:
Joules1 = Watts1 x (rotations per second)1
as minute/60 = second obviously
Now note the "per" in the above, it says
Joules1 = Watts1 x (rotations / second)1
This gives us a division by time and not as initially and correctly states a multiplication.

Besides that all remarks of our anonymous friend are correct.
But having said all that, the point you wish to make is also true.

Direction of transmission
