Hi All,
The setup is a "Dual Pole" built from scratch with 5 run coils and five run mags. Also 4 gen coils close to the perimeter.
1" x 3/8" round neo mags. Rotors are mirror images of each other because they are not symetrical.
12 x 15,00uF cap bank.
Dumping into 24V bank of Golf Cart batteries.
Input is about 300W.
Transistors 7 x five circuit boards run slightly above ambient with no heat sinks.
Dump circuit is the Monster Driver by John Stone on UFOPolitics' threads.
Only 2 mosfets with heatsink and fan. They run at about 100degF.
The circuit is triggered by arduino (my choice).
I'll post some vids and pics on dropbox soon.
I first tried a 100Amp DC contactor with copper/silver contacts and it was good for a couple hours, then the contacts welded.
Then I tried the Monster driver and it works extremely well.
I could push it up much higher, but for now I want to give a golf cart 24v bank a good charge. 22.5A is the C20.
John Stone is an EE from Germany that specializes in High Amp DC switching with mosfets.
His Monster driver is designed to handle 600V, 200A. I've tested it at 1800W and the fets stayed cool with no fan.
Be talkin'.
