  • The Capacitor-Coil Transformer

    Recently I've been reading and watching some new uses of a capacitor to extract useful energy (I'm not speaking about OU, only new applications) and they're not very usual.

    One friend of mine suggested to use a so called "cap-coil". A cap-coil is almost like a capacitor, with the only difference that one of the plates is not a plate, it's a coil.

    It's based partially on the work of Don Smith where he said that from a magnetic field can be obtained an electric field and viceversa.

    I've seen some videos in the youtube and it works pretty well.

    I've seen that the output (capacitor) of the capacitor-coil is connected to an AV plug and it's possible to light some small bulbs.

      Here is a video showing part of this concept:

        You can check also the E-Stress Power Generator

        Also, you can check Jean Louis Naudin Website for some similar experiment

          Hey Mag,
          I've built and been testing something similar to replicate the Lockridge device. The coil is wrapped around a plastic tube, then a 30 foot capacitor is wrapped on top around the coil. The coil is trifilar 21 awg wire. The motor/generator sits inside the tube as the core.

          Both coil and capacitor generates ac in each other. But not much. This is the first I've found anyone testing similar setup. I did download the pdf so I can study it more.

          Thanks for this thread.

            I don't know what it is but I do know what it isn't.

            It isn't a cap any more and isn't a transformer either.

              Who wants to download the whole book? Its in Chapter 3, page 191.

                Can you draw a simple drawing to better understand the concept that you're using? Thank you in advance.

                  I wonder how can there be energy transfer between the coil and a capacitor plate? in a transformer with a primary and a secondary coil the energy from the primary coil will be induced to the secondary coil via electromagnetic coupling. When the second coil is replaced with a capacitor plate there will be no electromagnetic coupling between the primary and the secondary. The capacitor is an electrostatic device that cannot receive magnetic energy. There will be no transfer of energy.

                    @Vedat,
                    Best way to answer that statement is to build and test for yourself. I have built a large capacitor coil with a motor/generator as the core. There is a transfer of energy. Typical AC and DC are not the only energies to be produced or collected.

                    @Mag,
                    Sorry I've been so crazy busy and the heat wave here in SC keeps me out of my shop. Hope to post pics or drawing this week. How does one draw circuit of capacitor wrapped around trifilar coil? Hmmmmmm

                      Don't worry about that. About the cap-coil it can be done a lot of different new questions. The good news is that it works as shown in some different videos.
