  • Ufo you are the King of graphics and what a head on your shoulders

This is very important to study and UFO has made this very plain.

Based on pg 66 of Davis book care of MadMack.

      Mike,
Your not keeping up brother! The images in your post have been outdated by experiment. Ufo posted a more recent image that better represents what is going on. He has labeled it RELEVATION 4. We don't want to post things that could confuse and cause steps backward right?

      Take Care,

        Relax Randy, chill.

It is evolution Sir!! we don't want to leave out how we got

where we are going. So you think we are done hey? Hold

that thought, we are just getting started.

I glued my rotor magnets in with 8X locktite

        • Mikey, sorry, I don't see the need for those posts of yours anyway. Why take up space to repeat what has already been pointed out by Ufo?!
Please put a sticky on your fridge with on it:

The reason is simple, when trying to show these diagrams

around it is impossible, unless I re-upload them to another location.

It that clear enough? Or am I going to have to beg for your forgivenss?

You and a couple others need to think a little more before you just

blurt out accusations. I am doing what I do for good reason and I am

trying to be as kind as I can with some of you boys who seem to

assume that others are up to no good.

This is not your first time and I understand. UFO needs a good

vote of confidence and I have seen just the opposite from many of

you younger guys. I will continue to do what I please. Please in the

future think through your post more carefully so as not to cause

ripples. This accusing has to stop or we won't get more participation

by those looking into these threads.

I reserve the right to correct these inconsistencies. I am a free man.

These diagrams help me to see what is going to be needed to run

these motors. I am not taking credit for these diagrams.

These interactions are just as bad as using vulgar language and those

of us who are grown do not think of this as funny.

            • I don't care why you have to re-upload or what not. I just see your posts on almost every single thread, very long winded posts that take up a lot of space.

I'm not accusing you of anything. I'm just asking nicely to consider it. As far as "you younger guys"… How would you even know how old I am…

That being said, no need to take up even more space for a long reply. I won't for sure.

Anyway here is another reply and I hope you do care and will care

about others in the future. Bare with me Sir. I am attempting

to make these post easier to review.

Wasting space, wasting your time? Slur's? You have always done this

I have watched you do this with others before. Cute hey?

No your posts are not "Nicely" at all, just smug. You are not foolin me.

                Thanks again. I understand

that I am boring to some. Go ahead and talk.

You see but you won't talk, only when it benefits your question

and guys like you don't share important details of your build either.

It's all about what you want and can get. Take out some time and

                • Forum

I have been on many electronic "bulletin boards". I starting visiting them many years ago. The BBS "psyche" has actually been quite consistent over time, giving us the archetypes of "troll" "flame-monkey"??? etc. On top of that, each forum has its own temperature and personality. On top of that, some are actively and closely monitored and some are at the other extreme. Usually, all this depends on the character and personality of the owner of the thread. This forum is no different.

The ethos of this forum seems (to me) to be freedom of speech, tolerance and disapproval of criticism. This has actually been discussed at various times over the 4+ years I have been a member. This is (of course) my own personal summary. If you post something reflecting your own personal thoughts and couch it in respectful language, you will usually get acceptance. If you call people names, make unwarranted assumptions or say negative things, you take the risk of getting a smack down, a relatively high risk, I would say.

The best course of action is watch, read, and not post. Not everybody will do this. Observe the personalities and respond any way you feel you must. It does make it hard sometimes to follow the logic and gather useful ideas, but that is part of the facts of life when it comes to any forum, this one included.

There is a common world wide meme that goes by several names and I think it is appropriate. To poke a dog. To rattle someone's cage. To shake someone up. To whack a hornet's nest. To pull someone's chain.

In the case at hand, some people like to tease and bait to get a reaction and other people respond reliably and predictably. I would like to see people let go of their high opinions and live peaceably, but I don't expect it will happen any time soon. I think of it as panning for gold. You have to process a lot of worthless sand and rock to extract the few small grains of gold that are to be found.

                  • So so Mikey, I don't share my findings with others… really? When you were asking for help with your cap dump circuit in the beginning, who jumped in and helped you? So much for gratitude… Will probably not be there next time. Btw, you can go back through my posts starting in 2007 and see if I haven't contributed. Also got a lot of help myself.

And you have watched me do WHAT with others? Please show me where, lol.

See I'm a "live and let live" type person. If I said something it's because there was a reason.

Ha ha, not falling into your trap of dirt throwing to get a reaction and spam this thread with useless post of insults, sorry.

All I wanted to say about your post is "less is more". Of course you're free to do whatever you want. Now let's cut the BS, I won't waste another word about this.

                    Peace and love Bromikey

                    • Dear All.

Reiteration or no, there seems to have been two salient points missed by most of the builders.

                      Quote from MadMax's first post....

" The ramps are steel with little or no magnetic retention."
" I used square or rectangular magnets, not round. "

Soft Iron or Transformer laminate is the only thing that will switch polarity through the neutral line. ( Gary Effect ) And keep doing so !! Any other form of Steel will become PERMANENTLY magnetised through induction.

Square/rectangular magnets have a defined field shape change at the edges whereas Round magnets have a very uniform field distribution which is much more difficult to manipulate.

                      Just my " two penneth " !!

N 52 Neo's arrived from Germany yesterday so I'm off to the workshop.

                      Cheers Grum.

                      • Grumage,
Those are two important points. I think MOST of us who have been giving this a shot have been doing so with what's on hand to see if it really works, or while we wait for orders to come in. I have an entire box of transformer pieces and old transformers that can be torn down, but for now a couple pieces of steel will tell the tale with far less work. To build a device that works we SHOULD only need six magnets on the rotor plus two stator magnets and two steel ramps. If it works and continues to spin THEN we can spend the money on the right materials. From what I have seen, I think it will work, but then I've been wrong before and the proof is always on the bench.

                        • Dear Dave.

I can see where you are coming from with regards the use of " in house " materials but, using ordinary Steel that elusive effect will vanish in just a few revolutions of the Rotor. Trust me, I've been there !!

My own feelings are to give it the best shot, not compromise in the shield/ramp area. If you have some transformer Steel to hand, use it.

For me, the most interesting facet of MadMack's proposal is the balance, something I had never thought of previously. Over the next week or so I shall be engineering a Six slot Polycarbonate rotor centred around a quality Ball Race and getting just a single pair of magnets to " play nice " with their fixed ones.

                          Cheers Grum.

You are not boring me Sir

                            I love a good rehash

My rotor magnets are in and I have been testing metals that may or

may not stay magnetic. It's hopeless to find. I try lots of metal and

as soon as MY metal is on a magnet and I pull it off, that metal is

a magnet. I switched to grain oriented last night and no retention.

I have cut a small stack out of MOT core material and this stuff

is amazing stuff. I used the factory hole in the center and it is

                            coming along well.

I just don't see how anyone could make a go of it without the good

materials. The best shape is the question and who wants to blow

a lot of time and money on pieces that can not be used so i see why

Mack wanted us to find the shape first.

I am going with the shape UFO posted just mentioned by Mack to

go the opposite of the Bedini attraction motor with the ramps.

Gotta run and play with magnets, I'll keep you all up to date with a

video as soon as possible (ASAP)

Thanks for stirring the Pot Grum

                            • Grumage,
You're right about what happens to the steel. But I will sacrifice some steel to develop the best shape for the ramps.

Max said the LEAST number of magnets he had on a rotor was 6. When you start adding more magnets than that, you really start to reduce the length of the ramp when you compare degrees of circumference allotted to each magnet, so the ramps need to be short. HOW short is what I want to know. I also think there is something to be said for ramps that have one end that curves way back around to get that one end away from the rotor magnet and actually put the middle of the length of the ramp at the point where the rotor first comes in contact with it. Does it even have to be a curve. Can the ramp be >shaped. Now BOTHE of the ends that the magnet wants to go to are in the same direction, and the middle is where the rotor comes into "contact" with the ramp.

If I take one of the short pieces of curved ramp like I used in my last video and I center a rotor magnet on it that rotor magnet will immediately spin the rotor so it moves to one end OR THE OTHER of the short piece of curved steel. It doesn't want to stay in the middle. SO what I want is a ramp that the middle is the first thing the magnet sees as it comes around, and it only has ONE end to go to...IF that makes any sense. Once I get the shape I want by experimenting with pieces of steel, I will use some laminate to replicate.

                              • The poles change, When you place a magnet on a flat piece of steel at one end ,The other end is an opposite field.
When a magnet passes over a flat piece of steel , things change.(the poles move)

To me what everybody is saying ,with this system ,is it will balance.
There has to be some form of change, or it will just balance
If not won't it just lock up?
