Is there maybe some recommended image processing software that could help with this?

Is there maybe some recommended image processing software that could help with this?

I use to have an OCR reader with a scanner I had but lost it all.
It didn't always work and you would have to go back and correct it all.
I was wishing for one after looking at those old impact typed
pages. There is so much to learn from those men.

The originals are irreplaceable.

If you have one that we do not have, then either you are the Tesla museum (in which case you can post), or you have a fake (in which case. don't!).

I have tried various OCR programs, but the quality of the prints is too low.
Besides that many are handwritten....

Appreciating the immense value of your time and also
the weight of circumstantcial ...., I have withdrawn more or less
hastily last Friday, preferring to make a few condensed statements
at long distance which, with a small effort on your part will put
you in possesion of that knowledge; which I have myself gained
only after a long and exhaustive study of the questions involved
1. A casual remark ... made the other day showing that
you have been somewhat impressed by newspaper reports, skillfully
..... , but without foundations in facts ................
..... , Priv. Councillor of Germany:"I am devoting myself
...... sometime to investigations in wireless telegraphy which you
have first founded in such a clear and precise manner"---"It will
interest you, as father of this telegraphy, to know,"---
2. Apologizing for this digression, which I would have
..... had I not thought it necessary to illuminate the situation.
I beg you to bear in mind, that with my patents in this still vir-
gin field, should you take hold of them, you will command a posi-
tion which, for a number of reasons, will be ...... stronger than
that held by the owners of Bell's telephone inventions or by those
of my own discoveries in power transmission by alternating currents.
3. For not only have I secured broad rights on the fun-
damental elements and features of the system, but I also have pa-
tents ..........., methods ......... appliances for the
production of powerful oscillations, which are universally identi-
fied with my name, and without which a wireless transmission to
very great distances and individualization of messages are not
practicable. The necessity of ...... my statements compels
me to cite my illustrious friends, Lord Kelvin and Sir William

induction coil and destined to be of great importance!." the lat-
ter:"The performence of your machine is marvelous."
4. The legal position is rendered still more secure by
my inventions of entirely novel methods for receiving as well as
for individualizing the messages, with which none now known has the
remotest chance of competing, and which are likewise patented.

I have tried to find some of the missing text in Morgan 0001.

The address "East Houston Str." I knew, that makes it easier to recognise. Also I have become familiar with Tesla's writing style, that also helps, I guess... Still, I can not read everything.
Here are my additions:

Dear Mr. Morgan:
Since last Friday, when I took the liberty to bring my
project to your kind attention, I have carefully considered the
facts and features, which seem to me essential and which, briefly
stated, are as follows:
1. I have succeeded in perfecting methods and apparatus,
which ... the transmission of messages to any distance without
wires ....long and expansive cables, as a method of conveying
intelligence, a commercial impossibility. These inventions render
....practicable, the production and safe manipulation of electri-
cal pressures up to a hundred million volts and movements of elec-
trical energy measured by rates of hundred of thousands of horse-
power which are capable of bringing into action instruments at any
point of the globe, no matter how distant from the transmitting
station. Long practical experience with apparatus of this kind and
exact measurements embracing a range of nearly seven hundred miles,
.... me to construct plants for such telegraphic communication
......... Atlantic and, if need be, across the pacific ocean, with
the fullest assurance of success.
2. I have devised means for operating selectively a
great number of instruments without mutual interference, and can
guarantee the absolute privacy of all messages.
3. rights have been secured by me of these methods

4. I am free and unhampered to enter into such agree-
ments regarding the exploitation of these, and my future inventions
in this field, as you might desire.
5. It would be my wish, subject to your approval, to
identity my name with any corporation which might be eventually
formed for above purpose.
6. Although the development of these inventions has con-
sumed .... of effort, knowing that I have to deal with a great
man, I do not hesitate to leave the apportionment of my interest
and compensation .... to your generosity.

5. Furthermore, I have secured rights on improvements of
a wholly different nature applicable to my system and offering
such advantages that any of them would be sufficient to exclude
competition.
6. Then again, I have made certain scientific discove-
ries, which in themselves are of transcendent importance in wire-
less transmissions to great distances, which I chiefly contemplate,
and which offers such unprecedented changes in commercial explota-
tion, that they deserve your fullest attention
7. Without endevoring to give you more evidences of
this kind, I venture to state - not without apprehension of being
misundserstood to you - That you have in further guarunties of success
in my extensive experience and ability acquired through years of
experimentation with electrical vibrations, of which my co-workers
will give you testimony.
8. Besides in this country, I have protected myself,
though not so quite completely, in England, Victoria, New South
Wales, Austria, Hungary, Germany, France, Italy, Belgium, Russia
and Switzerland.
9. In view of the intense activity in this field it is
desirable, that I should be placed without delay in a position en-
abling me to turn to profit my advanced knowledge and to secure
patents on features, which though of less moment now, may soon
become important.
10. Before going further permit me to remind you, that
had there been only faint-hearted and close-fisted people in the
world, nothing great would have ever been done. Rafael could not
have created his marvels, Columbus could not have discovered Ameri-
ca, the Atlantic cable could not have been laid. You of all,
should be the man to embark boldly in this enterprise only seem-
ingly hazardus, prompted by superior insight as well as desire to
advance an art of inestimable value to mankind.
11. Coming to the financial question - please remember:
These inventions, - the results attainable only by their means -
which now I alone am able to accomplish - in your strong hands,
with your consummate knowledge the mastery of business - are worth
an incalculable amount of money.
12. Although I have expressed myself in my last letter,
I will be more explicit relative to my share and compensastion, The
control is yours, the larger part is yours. As to my interest -
you know the value of discoveries and artist creations - your
terms are mine.

Dear Mr. Tesla:

Your telegram not to send the oscillator returned from Chicago was received this afternoon, but I regret to say that it has already shipped Tuesday. I have answered by telegraph to this effect, also that it might be possible to recall it from Chicago, if the American Express Company would be immediately notified, but up to the moment of writing I have received no reply. Mr. Ulman tried all the different machines and found this one to give the most steady light, and therefore considered it the most suitable to send. The other one, the latest type, gives also a fairly steady light, but not as good as the one forwarded.

The work in the shop is on the coherers, commutator, armature and shaft. Mr. Ulman thinks he will be able to obtain six or eight grades of metal chips and filings for the coherers.

I reached the express office just in time last night to recall the oscillator from Chicago. A telegram to stop it was immediately sent by the Express Company.

The other oscillator, together with two secondary spools is packed up ready to be shipped this evening.

Mr Ulman begs to be excused, he says he is too busy to report on the work this evening, but will do so to-morrow.

The mail obtained at the Waldorf to-day consisted of the inclosed bill, clippings and a letter from Dr. Carroll, inquiring about an electrical oscillator.

Dear Mr. Tesla:

Mr Ulman reported that the work in the shop is on the coherers, filings for the same, armature and commutator. He says the work on the coherers is going on as fast as possible, and he expects to have all finished the early part of next week.

The enclosed letter was received this morning. I have expressed regret to Prof. Campbell and informed him of your absence and that his letter would be forwarded to you.

A bill was received from “Le Courrier de la Presse” for 25 francs, for which I will send a postal money order.

I enclose a statement of the expenses for the past week.

Dear Mr. Tesla:

Your note and letter of Muncherjee & Co. Were received this morning. I have written them in accordance with your instructions.

The work in the shop is on the coherers, filings, armature and finishing of pulley. Mr Uhlman says the coherers are nearing completion; also that during the past week he has been unable to do much on the design of the break with constant overflow feature, having been actively occupied with the work in the shop.

The oscillator which was first shipped has been returned from Chicago in good order. In the box containing it were also packed the three books on astronomy. One of them which appeared to be the best one. I have to-day sent by mail, as well as also Vol. II of Mascart and Joubert's work on Electricity and Magnetism, which was just received from the D. Van Nostrand Company. They have not yet been able to obtain Vol. I, as Mr. Speirs explains in the enclosed note. The other two books, I thought, might be conveniently shipped together with the wax-paper and another secondary

spool for the oscillator. I was misinformed the other day when I wrote that two spools had been forwarded; it was one coil already wound, belonging to the oscillator, and one empty spool, Mr. Merckling? Not having the other one finished. We hope to send all this to-morrow, and the wax-paper is promised to be shipped to-day.

I enclose also a bill just received from the Van Nostrand Company.

Dear Mr. Tesla:

The work of the shop is on coherers and filings, finishing pulley and bearings and insulating armature. The coherers are not yet finished, as considerable difficulty was encountered in getting the glass pieces of all equal size. Mr Uhlman says, he will try his best to have them finished to-morrow.

He has had some aluminum wire nickel-plated and will have it cut into small particules. Nickel wire 10/1000 of an inch thick could not be obtained, so some thicker wire had to be taken and drawn to the proper size.

The speed of the independent break, Mr. Uhlman says, is now over 2100 revolutions per minute, and the machine runs very quietly and smoothly.

The mail to-day consisted of two letters from inventors and an appeal for charity.
