Let's say YOU file a provisional Patent for a "Device that produces energy from the combination of a specific metal in an acid base" or some such rubbish.

You have given EVERY company that wants to KEEP you from obtaining a Patent the opportunity to see what you have and to issue patent challenges (not during the provisional patent stage, but during the patent stage) on the following basis:

And I promise you that any big company who has anything that could remotely be associated with your device will offer up those patent challenges to keep you from getting YOUR device to market. If I have presented information here that is not true. Believe me, it is not my intention. What I am trying to make clear is that a patent application is a BAD idea for MANY reasons. If I have confused the issue with the terms provisional patent and patent, it was not my intention. All provisional patents MUST eventually become patents, or they die.

By the way...WIPO is the World Intellectual Property Organization. They have tons of information on international patents and the issues surrounding "Public Domain".

I just got back and I am sorry I didn't see that CANGAS did that. It is a shame

The second thing down on the page is a document from the WIPO with tons of info on patents and "Public Domain." You will see that Pubic Domain doesn't protect information as well as so many seem to THINK it does from being patented.

If you have an actual working DEVICE, and can provide videos of it working with the proper test equipment connected, start putting a package together as I have suggested. I can promise you that I know at LEAST a dozen people that are far enough off the grid they could build whatever they WANT in their backyard and their neighbors would be too far away to ever even SEE it.

If what you have is KNOWLEDGE of how to make such a device, but you haven't built it yet, you are in a bad spot. Most people don't want to spend the time and money to build ANYTHING until they have seen at least SOMETHING that looks like it might work, or plans that look like they might work because they incorporate something new that they have not seen before

Here some of the idea's, thoughts that I/we have come up with.

This is not a real option, because keeping something like this secret will eventually cost you your life and come with quite some horrors before that time. The only real option is to keep it in the open.

The amount of money that goes around in the oil industry, together with coal, gas, nuclear-, wind-, water- and solar power will become your enemy. And that is quite a phenomenal enemy. Laws do not help you, an NDA is meaningless and patents won't protect you (reading this thread so far, it is more like patents are a threat). There is no fighting this enemy. A big company will get a group of lawyers and they will sue you out of existence. To get a connection to the grid, will be postponed indefinitely with thousands of rules and regulations. The media will paint you as a lunatic and use every irrational fear they can inspire in the public to stay away from your invention.

a disruptive minded billionaire could ease this fight a lot but it is doubtful if he can and will see it through.
the general public will be manipulated through the media, so there will only be a minority that believes you. The majority could be made so afraid that they will even help to keep this invention from being used.

at this moment there is this giant hoax of global warming going on and it is used (of coarse) to inspire fear in the general public. There must be a (darker) reason behind that scheme, one that I have not figured out yet. But it is certainly true that this will initially help you and will make that the initial response of the general public will be a warm welcome.
That is of course until 'big money' pays the media to create the most horrific image of you and your device.

developing your device will already have cost you a lot. Now that you've got it working you would like to generate a cash flow as soon as possible. 'Big money' will 'help' you generate this cash flow, but in the wrong direction. It could take 10-20 years before your device gets accepted... (patents protect you max 20 years)
The 'rock star' scheme will work until the media kills you, and my guess is that that will happen very quickly.

Before posting here there are some things they should do. First, put together a package that contains all the plans, schematics, videos of working device and a step- by-step building process.

I called you a liar because you were describing a USPTO PROVISIONAL PATENT APPLICATION in such a wrong way that it was not possible to believe that you were simply ignorant or confused about it. If a lucky inventor relied on your advice re a USPTO provisional patent application, he could wind up making very serious mistakes that could cause him to lose his invention or his freedom or his life.
