I've been playing with the bifilar pancake coil, and found some funny things. Tesla made a patent (512340) for the bifilar coil, where he states several interesting things, for example about the added capacitance, due to the high (half of the supply voltage) voltage differnce between all of the windings.

The Electric field consisting of the magnetic fiel and the dielectric field, around the coil, does something funny, when it reaches its resonant frequency.
It produces a static magnetic field, while at the same time, the dielectric field is dynamic.
It seems the dielectric field at resonance, is free of the magnetic component, giving rise to a high voltage rise. when I pulse with 12 Volts, I can easily reach more than 300V point to point in the resonant coil.

I made a Video about the magnetic field:

.look at Mohammed Belkired's extended bifilar pancake coil..it looks like a capacitor but is a coil at the same time..good luck with your build

he talks of cryogenic freezing to achieve superconductivity. I wonder if this need would be eliminated if niobium titanate wire was used

          jegz,
im deleting my posts. I strongly feel this is the right thing to do.

could you please remove my citations?
