    Hi guys,

    just to share my creation and to ask for some help, i simply adapted the circuit and motor
    from an old Electric Scooter to a pedal car, it haves 3 wheels, the motor is the back wheel.
    And soldered a 100WATT solar panel to it.

    The system uses 5 x 12Volt VLRA battery's, 60 VOLT system, i designed the car to use a
    12volt to 220V inverter, to use the input from the solar panel and feed the original 220v input
    charger of the Electric scooter to charge the 60Volt bank, but this method is very inefficient because
    the charger consumes 180watt plus the consumption of the inverter.

    Can you guys help me with a simple circuit that consumes only around 100WATT (my solar panel
    production), so i can use the 12-18V input to charge the 60Volt battery bank?

    If you could accept charging whilst not running - a pity, I admit - you could have a switch which puts the batteries in parallel and run the output of the panels straight in, possibly protected by a rectifier. When you wish to run, you switch back to series mode. But I admit it is not a very elegant solution.

      About the only way to get better efficiency would be to get a high power dc dc voltage regulator boost converter. Some I've seen on eBay would probably handle this for around $30. However the best solution for overall efficiency would be to get a 12 volt motor in it and run a regulator between the solar and batteries. One other thought though it would be quite a bit more expense is to get 5 smaller solar panels to put in series. Nice fun looking build

          much grateful brothers i guess i just found the solution on e-bay for only 7$, the chinese have it all!!
