What will I say? Same thing as I've been saying to Turion for 6 years or so. "Prove your claim". Can tinman do that?

Actually, I hope this tinman guy or somebody does do it. I know Turion is not the real thing, nor is Thane H. I doubt tinman is, but I have seen some good debunking demonstrations by him. I have viewed a couple recent videos by him doing torque measurements but have not seen an output/input proof, although I suspect that he can fool me on video. And yes, I agree, some good brains and benchwork at OURdotcom. It's premature for me to decide on that one. Let's see how it shakes out. At least tinman doesn't act like a child and answers members questions.
The world could use a nice compact free energy machine, and so could I.

Hi ron48, I took some time and read most of the OUdotcom thread which I hadn't read before and watched several of tinman's videos. I saw no evidence of free energy nor did I hear him claim it. He, along with others, have been developing torque curves for magnets and cores, much like the article shows which I posted last week. I'll paste a copy and link at the end for easy reference. The point being is that they are measuring and plotting cogging torque.

I wonder how the torque from their 2 magnets with torque plate compares to the conventional arrangement using a closed iron magnetic path like shown in the article figures. Or, as citfta mentions, coils on cores replacing the PMs, making it essentially a Switched Reluctance Motor, SRD. SRDs are noted, even notorious, for very high torque density. High torque appears to be their goal.

They seem to be getting on quite well without me butting in. Here's that previous post.

COGGING

I have been on the lookout for a authoritative paper, text or presentation giving a technical understandable definition of cogging in Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machines (PMSM). I have found such. I will supply the link. But first:

Turion has recently again expressed his contention that cogging includes or is caused by the axial force of attraction between magnet and core at TDC (Top Dead Center), a position the paper calls Stable Detent Position. Here is a copy of that section:

The quoted section with diagrams are right at the beginning of the document.

Turion, these authors fully confirm what I've been telling you about cogging and axial force. A few of the terms are different like circumferential where I used tangential, and Stable Detent Position vs TDC, but the meaning is clear. They say "no net cogging torque is produced" at TDC.

Please read where Brad says cifta is wrong many posts later. If you build to his instructions exactly you will have a self running torque motor.
