I strongly believe these two cores are interchangeable. I will buy the first one as the -52 isn't available in my country.

Generally, the material used for transformers in such circuits are a ferrite cores.
I'm afraid you can be disappointed with the performance of the 26 materials.

Anyway, it should not to be too expensive,
and if it is not loaded with some great power, the core losses will not be too significant.
