  • Gram two stage oscillator gravity assisted pulse motor

Hi, I have been working on a TSO gravity assisted pulse motor to drive a 3 phase PMA. It is based on other designs I found on youtube. Basically it is a pendulum on one end of a seesaw. As the pendulum swings it will lift and lower a weight on the other end of the seesaw. 30 pounds on the pendulum and 110 pounds on the on the end of the seesaw. I plan to use a 3 by 3 Neo magnetic and a electromagnet that will be pulsed to swing the pendulum. The input force to drive the PMA is from the falling weight of the seesaw. The electromagnet will be pulsed at 12 volts 25 amps. I hoping for a 50 watts at the output. I will a be using a variable pulse width modulator at the output of the PMA to reduce the back EMF of the PMA. Suggestions welcome to determine the average power of the pulse used at the electromagnet.

When you do the video insert, didn't seem to work.

If you remove the s from https in the YouTube embed option, it should work.

Hi, thanks for the help. I had to copy from the address bar and remove the s. Thanks again.

I am having a timing problem. The electromagnet is turn on before the Neo passes the midpoint of the electromagnet, so it is fighting itself. Searching for a variable delay circuit that when triggered will wait a small amount time before turn on the electromagnet. I may have to add a micro. Suggestions welcome.

Surround the magnets with steel and narrow the field to be in front of the magnet.
Surround the coils with steel as well.

Hi, I ordered a variable 555 timer one shot module. Thanks for the suggestion. The 3 by 3 Neo is monster strong, putting metal anywhere near it is just asking for trouble. It has a 1000 pound pull force, if it did not work I would not be able to remove the metal. Thanks again.

It looks like you need 2 switches.
One for up stroke and another for down stroke.
Make each switch so it can be moved and you have an adjustable delay.
