    got my "scope converter" working. But not like it should. I bypassed the opamp, and also removed the powering of the circuit. I don't see why it needs to be powered. I just made a big resistor out of it. I still have some noise on the signal though. But that could be fixed with some decent shielding/grounding
    got a pretty nice sinewave when measuring a standard transformer.

        you know this sound card scope is nice the signal genarator works well if you need a signal genarator this is great you can control the duty cycle and freq with your mouse its nice i tested it with a npn and a led i like it im gonna hook up my wfc when i test freqs the scope part of the program is quite nice too recomendend not to use over 5 volts max but had it hokked to my sg and didnt fry anything but i would use caution dont blame me if you sound card dies :P

          Hi guys im new here been doing A bit of reading lately and theres a lot of info to go thru ,
          I have built 2 sg's one bifiler and a harddisk rotor and one trifiler coil running a bicycle rim with a trigger and 2 coils (2 transistors) .

          Thanks gabriolaman for xscope program link , I made a voltage divider and hooked up the collector of the transistors to tune my sg's and they were way out , hopefully ill get better results .

          I have noticed that with the harddrive rotor 4 magnets I get a higher frequency (80hz) but with the bicycle rim runs lower rpm bout 45hz

          however I get higher amplitude with the bicycle rim than the harddisk rotor .
          Note these had load batteries on at the time .

          but this was interesting observation .

          I hope to learn how to hook up more coils to charge batteries alot faster something a bit more practicle , at the moment im charging and discharging
          7ah and 12 ah

          the 7ah are doing great , but the 12ah are slowly getting there .

          Iv also started trying to condition a 26ah and this battery is a lot harder than the others .

          note these are all gel cells .

          Anyways I hope to contribute to the forum as much as i can .

            well i decided to make me Buffer Hardware for xoscope


            and im on the hunt for capacitors and i need a 20 picofarad capacitor and the capacitor code is 200 i noticed some capacitor only have 2 numers on them ie 20 with a underline and was wondering why some only have 2 numbers is the one marked 20 the same as the code 200?

            well i found out i was right if its two numbers its picofarads XD

              well heres my ugly prototype

              and the schematic for the sound card scope found all the parts in a old tv converter box from the recycling center near me

                Hi Gabriola,

                thanx alot for your hints to the xoscope.
                I found it already a while ago, wanted to put it together ( buyed already the parts) but then run out of time to do it.
                Since I now didn't remember the name of the project, Google didn't got it and I was just on the way posting an request to this forum for help with a suitable PC-oszilloscope.

                Beside this: are we someway limited by the soundcard?
                I'm just having a standard (Intel ICH6 / AC97) soundchip onboard.

                Maybe we find for further enhancement an interface-circuit to usb...

                  Hi guys ;can somebody help me with an advice about what minimal requirements must have an oscilloscope for working successful with Bedini technology ?
                  What frequency range , must have the oscilloscope to measuring and tuning successful Bedini motors?

                  Few (200-300) hundred $ I can afford but not thousands ...

                    We are limited within the sound card properties.

                    Sampling rate: 48 kHz (won't be able to get any signals above 48 kHz theoretically, in practice - anything more than 20 kHz or so will be pretty unnoticeable) Of course, 192 kHz sound cards would do the job better.

                    Bit rate: 16 bit (we are limited to 2^16 = 65536 points on y axes, aka, limited resolution) Again, 24 bit cards would make things better.

                    Average sound card usually have 48 kHz and 16 bit. If we know range, in witch the voltage will vary, we can adjust dividers so that picture is quite detailed.

                    Could be very interesting to compare standard oscilloscope with this solution. Bedini systems gives interesting spikes, and I guess the results of comparing these two methods would be even more interesting!

                    About standard AC97 - it will work, within specifications, as I said. About quality - it is possible, that advanced Sound Blaster cards would give better results (like recording sound), but it is likely that our eyes won't be able to tell difference.

                      What I did was goto ebay did an advanced search on ocilloscopes and put the zip code of where I lived in the search. I then found one for about $50.00 I went and checked it out, it was broken, but the guy had another one we checked, and sure enough it works, he let me have it for the same price.

                      It is not the top of the line scope, but it does what I want it to do. Much better than my sound card scope.

                      Someone on this board suggested this one as the next choice, one that interfaces with the computer.

                        I am now using a sound card oscilloscope.

                        The problem with a sound-card based oscilloscope is that most sound cards are AC coupled with an input capacitor. Because of this problem, it is virtually impossible to measure dc and to display square waves.
