I like the idea, but the request I would add to that is that no one could post new additions to that page, so the message does not get hidden by many questions and answers to that page.
I have seen this done at this page...
SparkFun Electronics :: View Forum - PIC Programmers - Software and Hardware
They put the main ideas they want to convey about the group at the top of the page....
I myself like FAQ pages, it does stop the broken record of how do wind my first SSG coil, how do I setup my first hydroxy ?
What I have seen done on another forum is they index the key post on the board that answers the FAQ .... So that a newbie can find the info fast without having to wade thru 2000 posts they can't understand.
As an board administrator myself, I can understand why one would not want to do this, as it is just one more thing to do and one more thing to keep me away from my own experiments.
What I do like about this forum is that people are free to share what they have learned... and they do try to help the new guy on the block get his first gizmo going.
