I heard something about this before, that Stubblefield was using the energy off the primary along with a relay of some sort built right on to it. It would conduct, pushing the contact away, then breaking the circuit, naturally returning once it's broken. Like the Imhotep relay make and break idea. I have been meaning to try this, but I've been just too busy with school, work, and the family. It seemed to me that there would not be enough juice to push a relay, but maybe a few of the earth batteries in series could do it? I need to find some material as well. The source I head this from also mentioned that around 1 or 2 volts was attained, but at a possible 10 amps or something like that could be drawn. Seems a bit much to me, but then again I have not done it myself. What is the max anyone has heard of coming off the primary?
Anyway, after the make and break, in the secondary the high voltage spikes would be collected. This process would actually save the batteries from wearing down and result in better extraction of the surrounding energy.
I wish I could be on this one with you guys, but I'm going to have to sit this one out for now. Good work so far though, this has been some good reading.
Oh yeah, one more question.. The addition of energy to the earth battery by the operator.. I had not heard of this either.. Is this just something you guys decided to try? Or is this actually supposed to be part of the system?

I think Stubblefield's work has intrigued many researchers into FE. Earth currents can be strong in some places depending on local geology and it has occured to me that maybe erecting a Tesla type aerial type radiant receiver with ground connection might enhance earth currents in the local earth vicinity of the aerial. Placing Stubblefield coils in this vicinity could produce an increased output which might possibly explain the apparent success he had with his setup, as I have not read about any very successful replications which get close to those reported for Stubblefield. Has anyone read any reference to Stubblefield using aerial type energy collectors?

Self - Generating Induction Coil

Hi Marcel, Bodkind, Clive, All, I'm currently busy designing a better "Make and Break" as NS wrote in his patent, of a mysterious device to accomplish this task. He did not tell us in his patent how to build this part. So.... I have some ideas I'm working with and will share them with all as well as ask for some help as to how to make it better. The challenge is to work within the 1/2 to 1 volt DC range that we know the cell is capable of producing. So you ask, "Big deal @ 1 to 1.5 Volt" but... when that coil collapses it will generate a spike anywhere from 10 to 50% larger then the (Mother Nature's) input voltage and this is where the secondary winding comes into play.

Pulsing ground

If I remember correctly, I commented that a cap picks up more energy radiated from spark gap or other oscillating dc pulse system better if connected to ground. I tested out with diode for no reason in particular, had put it in backward and it still lit up neon brighter. Two diodes, one each way is bit brighter than no diodes at all. Guess I posted here cause thought most relevant thread..

Hi All, I attempted my first upload of a Jpeg file to show you what will be used in my replication of the NS self-sustaining induction coil. NS Earth Battery Replication

Hi All, Some food for thought. When one reads the NS patent (600,457) one is intreaged by how NS could pull enough power from this device to do the things he was reported to have done. It was reported that he used this device to power many other devices. A few of the devices that we know about was his ground based telephone device, His switching system to switch his phones, His arc lights around his farm that ran day and night, His home made electric motor that ran for a couple of months until it was deliberatly shut down, His lighting in his cabin, His amazing heating device in his cabin to keep it and him warm (even after his death), his survailance system that told him when anyone attempted to walk upon his property and what direction they were coming from, Had there been a portable AM radio at the time I'm sure it would have powered that too! Nathan was accomplishing many amazing feats that it attracted Nickola Telsa. Humm, Tesla!!! The likes of Tesla indicated to us that Nathan was doing some serious stuff for his time.
His invention of his so called Earth Battery of which the patent examiner forced him to call it was an amazing invention for its time. There are many thing going on inside of his so called earth battery that we will get into going forward, but for now I must sign off. We'll pick this up in another post.

Been thinking about the process to get the cell up and running and it look like Cook patent to me,NS said you can put two cell in in the ground and pull more power, Cook patent?
I have talked to Dr Aspden and he said once the device is running it will self oscillate which is what NS was doing please read Dr Aspden work think of the three windings as the three cylindrical electrodes.

Hi Bodkins and All, I had come accross this article once before and read it and was intreaged then and of course re-read the article of Dr. Aspden per your request. As to how I think this applies to what I/we are trying to accomplish possibly could dove-tail into how to use the power coming from NS self sustaining induction coil and in turn use that power to excite the Cook capacitor/coil. I will need to print out the Cook patent and study it to have a beter understanding as to what Dan Cook was doing with his invention. It could be posible that Tesla and NS had looked at this patent and drew upon it for some of their ideas, who knows?
I do however think that extremely dissimilar metals have their own frequency and maybe that is what Dan Cook was using to his benefit to cause the activity he achived in his coil design. It however sound like Cook had to jump start the action in his device but once it had started then it sound like the sky was the limit as to what electrical energy he could pull off of it. With the NS coil it is evident that Nathan was using galvanic action to get his coils started to producing the voltage he then was stepping up to run his devices.

Methods and Ideas

Hi Bodkins and All, I have continued on with my experimentation into the "make and Break" of the NS self sustaining induction coil, but first I feel compelled to recognize some individuals that have done an exceptional amount of trial and error into constructing Nathan's device. This is in regards to the folks over at OverUnity.com that had success in many areas of their replications. It is from their experimentation that gave me ideas that I want to share. But first things first, and that is to recognize these individuals for their great efforts and time they invested that I hope we all can build upon. These are some of the individuals but not all that contributed greatly, Localjoe, Pirate881, Jeanna, HansVonL, Georgem, Ian M, Hartiberli, and Electricm, besides others that contributed much effort! It would be great if those individuals would also contribute to this thread of research and discovery. Great, now I feel better mentioning them and the great effort they have put forth and from time to time I would like to mention their names (Handles) that gave me these ideas. Of course I recommend that you read the two threads over at OverUnity.com to understand what I at times would be referring to. I truly believe that discovery is also a matter of gathering information together in a cohesive package or understanding and building upon that via experimentation. I feel this is exactly what Nathan Stubblefield also did through his research and designs. He gathered information from individuals of his time and used that information to build upon and make profound discoveries to suit his needs and better his life as well of intent to help his fellow man to better his or her life. I really feel the man “NS” was “Driven” to develop technologies that help all he came in contact with and to better the world for his wife and children and grandchildren. What is interesting is that he continued on with his work even after his world around him was crumbling apart. I think he became obsessed with his work and could no longer balance his life of and for his own commitments. Anyway, enough of what I think and back to Nathan’s patented device. When the folks over at OverUnity were building the NS coil they were observing and interesting phenomenon in that after they wetted the coil it started to generate electricity via galvanic action of which is a given when dissimilar metals are placed in an electrolyte and that electrolyte was water. Some tried to enhance this action by using salt of which would give a brief increase but would ultimately trash the coil and cause it to ground out. So remember for now “Salt” is a no no. Maybe there could be use for salt but in a different application around the coil just not dissolved into a solution contacting the coils elements.
Now when reviewing the patent, Nathan refers to a solenoid type action that can be used to our benefit. What I think he was referring to was that once the galvanic action started and was generating a small amount of current that we could use that current to activate our “Make and Break” device he refers to in the patent. Jeanna did some experimenting by using a compass in close proximity of her coils. She found that the compass needle was being deflected by the action of the coil. So I thought if it can deflect a compass it surly can through a switch, ie. The” Make and Break” that Nathan was talking about in the so called solenoid action. Logic would state that if it is creating a magnetic field within his coil that one end of his coil would be north and the other would be south, but you have already figured that out! LOL. The challenge I see is to be able to design a fail safe “make and break” device that will work in the low voltage that the coil creates. So I said to myself, Self, what will respond to a subtle magnetic field than another magnetic field of the opposite polarity! What happens when you place the two same magnetic fields against each other?? They repel. But you all have played with magnets and already know this. Continued in the next post.

Part 2: Methods and ideas.

Part 2: So I figured that with the additional information and discoveries made by Localjoe into how the coil operated, he determined that if you short out post 5 and 6 of the coil you kill the magnetic action of the coil! Wow, what a revelation. I’m thinking total solenoid action. Also what he found out was that the shorting of the coil for only a micro-second that the coil regenerated it voltage instantly. It’s as if the coil is destroying itself via the galvanic action yet in the same instance it is re-plating the material it used during the process. It is a known fact that earth battery plates that had been dug up after years of service were as if they had hardly deteriorated. They looked as good as the day they were placed in the ground. Now I have never been a witness to this but have to believe it is true for why would they have any reason to lie about that? Now I have done many hours of researching a lot of the material that is out there on the web and these conclusions make sense.
Back to the coil:
Now what I have found out in working with the materials we have today that NS did not have in his time were the new rare earth magnets in all kind of shapes and sizes. These new rare earth magnets are so strong and yet respond to such small magnetic fields, the type and strength that is being generated by the NS coil. Now I believe in taking baby steps in trying to figure something out. You know, one step at a time. In essence, find what works and build upon that. In a previous post I mentioned that I have had some success in designing a make and break device. I have found that by using one of these new samarium cobalt magnets, (rare earth) about the size of ¼” inch in diameter by ¼” in length with the poles at each end of the magnet and by determining the pole that has setup on a coil wither north or south that I / we can use this to our advantage and create a switching device to do the “Make and Break” on post 5 and 6. I have been able to construct using these small magnets a switch (so to speak) of two copper disk and the small magnet that sets at the end of the coil and above it, inside of the magnetic field the coil generates. I’m using the repulsion action of the magnets and magnetic field to cause a switching action of the current present between post 5 and 6. I will need to take some more photographs of what I have designed so far and post them so you understand what I’m doing. I think that Nathan himself had developed a switching mechanism to do the “Make and Break” by using a magnet in his design but we will never know because he took that to the grave with him.

Now you need to understand that my efforts have been directed towards designing a make and break device for the NS coil for Nathan did not release in his patent how he did this. Also you have to remove the MAGIC and MYSTASISM that some would place around Nathan’s patent and think about it logically. Now I must admit that the only mystery I see in this patent is what happens in a given piece of ground where the coil is placed. At the turn of the century or during Nathan’s time there were Geomancers that chose the locations where telegraph systems would route across the land and there were engineers of that time that were well versed in the ideas and technology of that time and Nathan drew upon this in deciding as to where to place his coils in the ground for the best performance. But I think that Nathan in his later years via experimentation determined that this was not as necessary as he once thought and he could place his coils in any location and ground and have the effects he desired. I have reasons for the way I feel about this since he went just outside of a building in Murray and planted one of his coils that ran for all of the time he was demonstrating his equipment. So think about that when you read something in that describes how tedious it was to place a coil in the ground. Now some will argue that it is important to have a good electrical ground and to some degree I agree but I also believe there are other factors taking place that are yet to be explained. I have other opinions but I’ll leave it at that. I think I’m getting carried away and need to get back to the device at hand. For those of you that have worked with the Bedini SSG’s you know that when the coil collapses it created a huge spike. I believe this is where Nathan’s secondary came into action. I think it was used to gather those relative high voltage spikes. He could have fed this into yet other coils to increase even more the voltage and watts. I have read somewhere an individual say, “Give me watts and I’ll give you Amps” Now I must admit I do not understand this but believe it to be true. I feel that would be the next logical step.
