wow your tireless efforts just keep going. I had just bought the 5k pot..lol. excellent cant wait to build my own lunch box model. The dual charging is a novel idea as well

I went ahead and converted the LB (lunch box) unit to the John Bedini solid state circuit design. Its much better now. Something really usable and reliable. Here is the video of it.

Thedude's original method was a parallel connection of the oscillator and a single ignition coil. Mart said he got his running with the oscillator running in series with the ignition coil. Currently, you say in your latest YouTube video that the "Bedini oscillator replaces the relay in the same position in the circuit". In your original LB unit, the relay was in series with the twin, parallel ignition coils. This implies that the relationship of the Bedini oscillator in your rebuild is a series connection as well. Is this correct?
Excellent work! completely silent. I like the way when you ground it you get the second bulb going with just your hand. Keep up the great work I have did it both ways I have used the fan and the solid state and they both work pretty good.

to accomplish the best results with neons,CFL and any other light producing device we need something which is :
ELECTROSTATIC HIGH FREQUENCY OSCILLATOR
for example static generator with a module able to interrupt that field at high frequency in MHz range
Get a small motor , build electrostatic machine, build interrupter and you have almost perfect power generator for light purposes.

Sorry that I was not more clear in my video as to HOW I have the two circuits blended together. I will draw up a diagram and post it. The Bedini circuit replaces the relay but not in the exact (in series) way. It is in parallel the way Thedude shows it. What I had to do was rearrange the circuit a little in order to the use the same rheostat and tail light bulb etc. that were already installed and use the same drive battery. I elected to separate the charging into two different batteries at this time to compare the charging capability of each circuit. Bobkins you did a great job with the fan. That may be just as good a way to go.

Power factoring a home is a good idea to conserve electrical energy .... but the biggie at least in the USA is "Load Balance" the 240 volt 1-phase 3-wire residentual service is metered by the highest leg ( phase "a" or "b" ) to ground or neutral. So if your home running on a normal day phase "a" and "b" should be as close as possible. The 240 volt usage of a dryer, hot water heater, range are balanced loads, the 120 volt loads if not balanced the kilowatt house hour "Meter" measures the highest load of "a" or "b" for usage. So if "a" is at 7,200 watts and "b" phase is at 14,400 watts you "pay" for the 14,400 watts not 10,800 watts average between the two. So the UK gets a great deal because everything is 240 volt a balanced load ......... you know what we got in the USA, come up with something that will flip flop loads around or the power company needs to come up with a accurate electrical home kilowatt hour meter.

SS SG circuit as per spec above. Charging not configured yet. No ignition coil, home made HV secondary is not connected to the primary (well it is by induction). Amp draw is around 500ma. Useable light, works good
second one is home built PWM circuit (thanks Erf, works great ) swithcing a Fet, 300ma draw, no recovery yet, ignition coil. It will switch on as low as 100ma, brightness is dim though. Cool circuit, variable pulse width and frequency, makes all the cool noises!

Totally excellent. How many turns of what gauge wire are in your outer high voltage coil? Great innovation. I have been moving in this direction in my thinking, but you beat me to having a working unit. WAY TO GO!!!
The inner HV coil I didnt count turns. I estimate over 1000 easily. It is 20mm PVC pipe with 0.5mm (SWG 25 leftover from Window Motor triggers) and is over 40 ohms, I posted the exact ohmage (lol) earlier in this thread. I think a thinner gauge wire would be interesting to experiment with too. I can also use this circuit like others to oscillate the Ign coil, but I saw no increase in efficiency over any combination of both HV secondaries. So I just let it do the lighting by itself.
Its not done yet Peter, the unusual thing is this. If I wire up a second battery to charge off the SG circuit the light goes out. Interesting I thought. Like the HV condition that is created is directed away from the HV secondary and into the charging battery.
I can however fill a 3.3uF 400v ( ) if I connect it to the output diode and the + of the run battery. Im not 100% sure, but I think I had to install it backwards to the way I thought I had to. Meaning the negative of the cap was connected to the + of the battery. I will double check it, because one way the cap would fill but the light wouldnt come on and the other way the light would come on. More to come. Also think about another one of Johns circuits we could use to periodically dump that cap I dont know if the light will switch off on the dump, we'll see soon. It fills to over 200v instantly.
The self oscillator is 25SWG and 20SWG(0.9), about 2 or 300 turns around a PVC pipe slightly larger than the HV secondary. Interestingly enough, I originally had it wound directly onto the secondary (insulated by tape) and it worked fine, but I was using the traditional SG circuit with both diodes and high resistance then. Got some 10mm constant arcs of the HV secondary if terminals are placed very close together.
