The next video two things Happen.
No charging battery on the transmission end and the X charge battery diode is connected to the receiver sphere the light on the neon gets brighter so i play around with the tuning and get very close to resonance.
Now if i had the receiver better balanced I could get perfect resonance and bingo off we go the land of milk and honey.

    • You guys seem to have trailed off into all sorts of interesting avenues, but I thought some of you might find this interesting. I was playing around with my ignition coils and a PWM I build the other day. I was using the PWM to pulse an LC circuit with the primary of the ignition coil being the inductor. As you all know the secondary is directly connected to the primary, which isnt exactly the ideal setup. With a little tinkering I was able to maintain a constant stream, or discharge across two metal plates about 15mm apart for about 350ma input. The PWM allows control over duty cycle and frequency, and its interesting to see the changes to the electrical arc when frequency is raised, changes in sound and appearance. This lights up the modified CFL just fine, and will also fill a HV low uF cap quite quickly as you all know.

In an attempt to try something different I replaced the ignition coil with a MOT (microwave oven transformer). The primary has a low inductance, whereas the secondary has significantly more turns, and significantly more inductance, somewhere in the 15H range from memory! AC reffered to inductance in another thread as being similar to inertia....hmm.

Anyway, interestingly enough pulsing the primary of the MOT would not produce enough potential on the secondary for it to jump the gap, like the ignition coil would. No matter how close the gap was I didnt get a spark, this was @ 12v input. But low and behold, the light works great when connected to the secondary despite it being of much lower voltage output than the ignition coil.

It was an interesting experiment, and for those that cant get their hands on the Ignition coil perhaps a MOT will provide some results.

Try you spark gap with magnet wire........so magnet wire from the negative of the battery and magnet wire from the circuit.........insulation touching insulation or there abouts...

              Sorry the videos crap,
When i touch the receiver side it changes the tone on the transmitter side its connected alreally. I feel im getting close i think the move in tone is pointing me in the right direction, Connecting the battery on the receiver is adding balance to the two sides making it become one half of a capacitor between the two sphere the other half in the ground.

Nat i dont need a spark gap or the cyclinder in cyclinder because the sphere are the cyclinders and a spark gap would make it really hard to tune.
Im just trying to get the spheres in resonance.
Remenber the balloon in the Farraday cage. I pop the balloon (sphere) and the charge gos to the foil and then tranmitted to the other sphere because the ground is the lower potenical.
I may cover the sphere again like Harold Aspden cyclinders. I also think that if i bridge rec the transitter it will work better.

              • 555 timer CFL & Transmitter circuit

Here is the circuit for the 555 timer HV output driver that I showed in my last video ---the one that I blew up twice!
It is the one that I use in the "Mini Box" CFL. I think that it went up in smoke twice because I was simply over driving it. Looking at BIG HV sparks is really addictive. I guess that I need to build a true Tesla coil to satisfy that desire.
If you build the circuit below be careful about the source power and keep it down. If you don't--- expect the 25 ohm rehostat to smoke, then the 555 chip, then the transistors, and finally the LED indicator light explodes. Exciting but it ends your fun for the day.
Today I will work more on the receiver part of the system and try not to play with the sparks.

                  Thanks lidmotor.
Ps I've got all the stuff together to make vacuum tube out of car indicator light. Busted a few, steep learning curve melting / drilling glass. I'll post vids when I get the method sorted out.

Ps I found some self resetting circuit breakers at an auto shop while searching for vacuum device. Got one rated 10 amps 6 to 24v. Might help stop 2n3055 (rated ideal 15a) from blowing, and I'll see what I can do for the 555.. Maybe just cross both fingers.

Oh and tesla's hearing got much better, in his autobiography he said he could hear thunder storms I think 500 miles away. Migraines etc.. Good news is, once he had 'mastery' over system, he stopped needing to eat or sleep, just sat in particular vibrations of aether streams..

                  See the excitement coming!

Just been reading Tesla's lecture over again. Well, the first 10 pages or so.. He says that the pulsing of primary of transformer with disruptive discharges of dc at high frequencies causes secondary coil which has high number of turns and thus high impedance? Inductance? (i get those two mixed up) to resist current flow. Thus small or no discharge. He says that making increased capacitance between the two output wires by adding glass or rubber plate between them cancels out some of the secondary's resistance to voltage change / magnetic field resistance to voltage change, and therefore increases current from secondary.. Hence longer sparks. He says that at frequencies of millionths of a second, sparks change to streams of gaseous discharge which are safe to make contact with, and dangerous shocks occur only when come too close to coil whereby it discharges thru capacitance of body to ground.

I was accidentally doing that last night when I couldn't get sparks from relay driven coil (not enough current to start with - relay only drawing 20 to 30 milliamps) and on a whim connected one of my 2100v resonance caps from microwave to pos cap pos secondary neg to neg. Sparks from shorting cap quite large, made me jump. Effect seems to decrease with length of wire from then on. Frustratingly, couldn't get constant sparks either.. Didn't think cap would require several seconds to charge up with ac current? Anyhoo, going to liberate my cordless drill charger and go with separation transformer from mains to step down transformer to 30 v dc, w pot.

                    @lidmotor
What's difference between pot and rheostat?

                    • Wireless Energy Transmision--Part 2--The receiver

I played around with the receiver part of the system today and managed to complete a video of it without another bad "event". Nat and Bodkins-- my scale model is so small that I am not getting the same results as you guys are but it is early on in the build and it looks promising. I have not figured out all the steps yet. It takes time. Need to research more.
This christmas tree light tester that I am using can be bought on Ebay for less than $10 and sure comes in handy for this kind of work. I recommend that you get one. It is not a neon. It is a powered device that goes off when HV is detected and increases in rate the higher the voltage.
Crob227 on Youtube is now envoled with our project and has a video out using a microwave oven transformer. He is still at the "induction" energy transfer stage but is catching up.

                        • Tesla's patents - research suggestions

I recommend reading or rereading Tesla's patents #0787412 and #1119732 at this point.. I can tell we're making progress by the fact that it (patent) all makes sense now. Didn't before..

By using completely different geometries for the recievers, using definate construction proportions explicitly detailed in patents, we should "find it practicable to produce in this manner electrical movements thousands of times greater ... Than the one impressed on the secondary by the primary. (the primary resonates to aether vibrations) I have thus reached ... Rates of flow of electrical energy (electricity in the secondary)... Many tens of thousands of horsepower"

Remember to keep in mind when reading that when he uses a dubious word or vague definition that seems to be about 'electricity', he is really talking about aether. When he talks about hertzian electromagnetic waves, he is quite definate with terminology.. Ie 'pressure', 'tension' seem to be about voltage, but he is referring to aether component.. Etc.

Re: the reciever's geometry being 1/4 of the transmitted wavelength from receiving grid to ground in total length, or the same multiplied by an odd number..

I'm by no means mathematically inclined. At a crunch, ok, will do. But don't want to.. So my brain came back to me with a solution I thought I'd share: put receiving plate on a telescopic tv antenna. Tune reciever in by extending or contracting. Be wary of hitting the 'sweet spot' and touching arial.. It should be aether vibrations and harmless - secondary not so good.

Also, you'll notice that transmitter coil secondary is connected to coil primary, just like ignition coils. Tesla was a devious bastard with his clues.. Still, guess that's why they're still there to be found.

Frequency converter hz to meters and 555 timer hz page...

Frequency converter hertz to meters: reciever circuit must be quarter this length or an odd number multiple thereof..from plate, arial, primary (secondary if connected to primary), to ground wire.

And to tune the transmitter, a 555 timer calculator, gives frequency in hertz.

                            • Tesla coil circuit info---ignition coil driver

I found this site while researching Tesla coils. It shows an ignition coil driver circuit similar to the 555 timer one that I came up with only with (4) 2n3055 transistors to handle the load. There are a couple of other differences also that should make this circuit better for what we are doing.
This site has a lot of information and the feedback thread that is attached is very helpful. What really got my attention though, was a picture of a person in a hospital bed who was badly burned while playing around with a microwave oven transformer. We need to be careful with this stuff. It is dangerous. RMCybernetics - DIY Homemade Tesla Coil
