  • Laptop Batteries

    Hi Friends,

I was curious in charging laptop batteries with the Bedini Charger, and I was looking for a way to do this, because as many of you know a laptop battery has some electronic circuitry, which monitor the battery and provide the terminals of the battery upon request. So in order to know how a battery is made, I decided to break a part my old laptop's batteries, and amazingly I found out that it seems quite easy to get the battery terminals out, because they reside at both sides of the battery, which can be accessed by making holes at both ends of the battery. Take a look at the pictures, hope this helps, I am going to make two small holes on my current laptop battery and start charging it to extend the battery life.

    AA

    E,
Its interesting that they are 6 AA batterys set in series...

The newer laptops with lithium ion type battery really hold a long charge. These certainly will have other applications as processors are making these laptops obsolete every few years.

A good rechargeable light would be one easy use for recycled laptop batteries

      A word of caution

      Hi,

No they are not AA batteries, and are much larger, but I found out that my Toshiba laptop seems not to be like this. The shown battery was from an HP notebook.

        Note on latop batteries

Lithium Ion batteries typically have a circuit that will close down if they get a high spike to prevent meltdown... but will render the battery useless.

I hope this is not the case with yours.

Of course I know that, and that's why I wanted to bypass those circuitry.

            Hi Elias,

Have you try charge with Bedini charger? interest to know the result..
I have one in bad condition too..only hold the power less than 15 minute.

It is save? if save I will try too.........

Yesterday, I tried to charge my cellular battery, with my Bedini, and don't worked, maybe it's necessary use capacitor discharge with voltage controlled, if I use capacitors 16 volts, but with high mfd, maybe it's possible send energy to my cell batt, cell batt is litio ions, 3.7 volts.
Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.

I'll post results soon as I succeed in getting the terminals out.

Yes, I have molten the two ends of my laptop battery by using a soldering gun and have got the terminals out, the next step is conditioning the batteries which I would begin today as I have almost finished my new Bedini Charger. It is quite easy to access the terminals, I would post a picture of my modified laptop battery. But still I am waiting to condition the batteries and see if I can see any positive results.
