    [
    CENTER]
    As the next President takes office on January 20, 2009, the nation looks to him to come up with a plan that will put an end to the crippling high energy costs. The plan must be thoroughly thought out and based in reality. Yet it must be executed quickly, forcefully, and successfully.

    The final outcome of this book is a proposed legislative agenda. One that is
    bold, but realistic.
    The plan needed to deal with the oil crisis is not for the faint of heart.
    But, if devised with skill and executed with determination, it can lead us
    into a new world of affordable energy, national security, and a stable
    environment.

    Really?

    If you want to see any mainstream leader shake like a leaf, tell him that you have discovered a technology that will invalidate the value of oil or grid generated electricity. Your new technology will make one universal technology available to every human being on the planet. There will be no grid. Every home will have access to limitless energy.

    He/she (president) will weep like a baby explaining how that would create a crisis of historic proportions. Millions of jobs, entire corporations would cease to exist. The thought is unthinkable, you will be labeled a risk to national security and proclaimed, an economic terrorist.

    Legislation

    Keep in mind that politicians have known about this possibility since Tesla, to no avail. For me that is a 100 year hint. This change will not come from the top.

    Good luck with the book...

          I desperately need a new car. I am not buying anything that does not use electricity.

          Soon GM will launch the Volt (I think somewhere in 2011). Can run on Electricity alone and for my needs that is 6 cents a day. Compare that to about $6.00 a day now that I spend on Gasoline. I know that there are some other companies that have electric cars, but I am not so sure about their quality.

          The future as many of us seem to be indicating is electricity. Produce it and throw it on the grid at even 2x as much as we pay for now that would be 12 cents a day to drive around for me. What I save on Gasoline I will gladly pay for higher prices to run the AC at home etc. Electricity has the capability of being Green. Farmers can run windmills and pipe to the grid. Burning oil is just that burning oil, very bad.

          GM and all the other manufactures are likely feed up of the oil companies playing games with the price per barrel of Oil. The price fluctuations have seriously hurt customer confidence ... Who is buy minivans pickup trucks, or full sized cars now??? No Buddy!!! Bottom line GM has been hit bad, no one is buying their products. GM is going to turn off the oil tap in a big way soon. GM will make what Toyota and the other import companies are doing with hybrids look obsolete.

            I hate to rain on your parade but if you expect GM or any other US auto company to lead the way in electric or other alternative energy I am afraid you are going to be sadly disappointed. Maybe you are too young to remember the EV1. This was an electric vehicle that GM developed. When they came on the market you could not buy one, you could only lease one. Everyone who got one was extremely pleased with it. They were great for short hops around town and short commutes. When the time for the leases expired GM would not let anyone renew their lease. People begged GM to let them buy the cars or renew the leases. GM refused. GM came up with some lame excuse about the vehicles not being cost effective blah blah blah. A lot of people think big oil complained too much because the vehicles didn't use oil and GM responded. My wife has a 1995 Saturn wagon that gets 35 mpg. If GM could do that in 1995 why don't they have vehicles now that get 40 or 45 mpg. Haven't they learned anything in 14 years?
            If we want to reduce our dependence on oil we will have to lead the way ourselves. My son and I both drive trucks and cars that use diesel for fuel. Only we use biodiesel that we make ourselves. In the last 5 years the only gasoline I have bought has been what little my wife's car uses and some for my lawnmower.
            Good luck in your quest, citfta

              25 Billion to GM & Ford as part of bailout to retool

              As part of the eco bail GM and Ford managed to get 25 billion in low interest tax payer financed loans to get it together to meet new cafra mpg standards...

              :Lets see what happens with that!

              Will big oil win again?

                Hi Binzerbob;

                You might want to hold off a few weeks on that car. You didn't say exactly why you need a new car so desperately, but S1R is supposed to release all his info. on running a car on water. He will be at a meeting of Advanced Alternative Energy Device Show and Tell Conference in Ruskin, Fl. on Oct. 18-19 with his water-fueled car which will be for sale. At that time he has promised to release all info. on his designs (which he says he has perfected) on the web. I plan to attend the meeting.

                You can check him out on WaterFuel1978@yahoogroupscom.

                  Who owns the auto companies?

                  Hi again BinzerBob;

                  The problem is the oil co.'s and the auto co.'s are all owned by the same people. They just play games with us. Check this out;

                  Federal Reserve Bank, ownership - The Lawful Path

                  As Goldenequity & DaidE said, this will only happen from the bottom up.

                  Here's a current and an older example;

                  Welcome to St. Mary's Today Online Edition!

                  The EV-1 cited by Citfa is another. There is a really good article on exactly what happened to it and where the various technologies went at the panacea.org site.

                    Hi BinzerBob;

                    Just saw an interesting program on 60 Minutes w/Leslie Stahl. She interviewed the presidents of G.M. and Tesla.

                    They don't even have a working proto-type of the Chevy Volt yet, even though they are currently running ads for it. Their "every man's car, the Volt" is estimated to sell for around $40,000 when they get it on the market.
                    Even Ms. Stahl caught him on that one!

                    The Tesla 4-door family sedan is estimated to sell for about $60,000 when & if they get it on the market!

                    Both of these cars still have limited range on a charge. The program also stated no one has yet found a way to make in-expensive electric cars(at least in the U.S.)

                    So while we may see affordable electric cars down the road, it will be awhile. Looks like the best near-term alternative is still Hydroxy or water-for-fuel or plasma spark or some of the other things Forum members are working on.
