tested a insulated tube today that actually showed good results much less amp usage in my system, i used a vinyl paint nothing fancy but it stuck well after cleaning the tube with a mild sanding and some solvent. i got good gas output with no chemicals in tap water so will proceed with some more testing on that one. it appears far easier than conditioning processes i've tried and gave me a good result. if your running a high voltage setup give it a go just on the inner tube. it probably wouldn't be as beneficial in a brute force koh cell.

Good show. I suppose it is none conductive, so what kind of Voltage did you use? Did you coat outside of inner tube and inside of outer Tube?
I heatshrunk my outer tube just so it would not conduct but did nothing to the inner.
Always wanted to use Waterglas (SiO2) now that I found some I have not tried it yet.

i insulated only the inner tube i run that one as positive normally. vinyl paint is basically just pvc disolved in a solvent when i put my multi meter on it it gave no conductivity. i was running 48volts dc from the alternator. unfortunately i managed to fry my diodes and alternator today so progress is going to halt for a little while till i do post mortem on my system and get up and running again hopefully my stator is ok. hit just over 400 volts before a stray wire shorted out and it was all over fortunately my pwm wasn't damaged it would be hard to replace. oh well better ring the wreckers for a new alternator i might try a bridge rectifier as well.Last edited by hhoexclusive; 10-01-2008, 04:23 AM.

tuning pipes
I am trying to tune the pipes, but the results seem to be contrary to everything that I have read. On all the info I have, it is necessary to either shorten, or cut a slot in the outer pipe to raise the tone (frequency) to that of the inner. I am using a 3/4 inch diameter inner pipe, wall thickness 1.5mm; with an outer pipe of 1 inch diameter, wall thickness 1.5mm.
I am finding that the outer pipe, when at the same length as the inner, rings at a higher note (frequency) than the inner. Thus to get the two pipes to the same note, I am going to have to cut down on the inner pipe.
Has anyone else found the same? It puzzles me.
