    e replica..it worked

    hey guys,
I tried to make this, first with soda cans..got somewhat hot..then went to 2 paint cans ...kept the space less than a 1/8 inch,,it got too hot to touch. Used gear oil I had in the garage...Kept my large living room warm even when we got to -6.

I made the inside one, by cutting the paint can so it fit, had cut off the top of the orig outside paint can...
used the welding tube stuff..( good generic name)

anyway, put a tapered bolt on the top of the outer can when it was welded back on..added a fan blade( always cock eyed..but it made the difference I think
hooked it to a bicycle to get it going, very small gear on the top above the fan...connected to another gear..then to the bike gear
also road as fast as I can( age 56)..
but as the air /heat rose, turned the fan by itself.took about 55 minutes to get it hot..but wow..hot..
orig on piece of wood..bolted so it didn't take off..or knock over and burn something
redone so it's bolted to a firebrick
I could heat my house this way easily..but then again...
would not trust it if I'm not home to watch...

might want to try the 5 gallon or 10 gallon barrels..if I can find one w/o ridges...

any other ideas on how to turn the top w/o electricity?? Solar, but how??

      cavitation steam generator

Does any one think a rotor like in the cavitation steam generator would work any better? It's a drum with many shallow blind holes drilled into it spinning inside of a pipe. Supposed to be OU.

How about a burned out bench grinder motor. Take it apart cut out the winding's you end up with a rotor and case, put a patch over the wiring holes seal the end plates. Most off them don't have cooling holes in the end covers. I'v got one but it still runs, so I'll have to wait. Been wanting to try this heater some day.

            Hi jdbee01,

Do you have some pics? I'm very curious to see what you made and how you did it...

            Thanks,

I too would love to see some pics / vids if you are able to provide! Sounds very interesting.

What kind of RPM range are we talking about here?

Has anyone seen my Bedini Ceiling Fan that pushes the warm air down, and charges batteries as an added bonus? Me neither. 'Bout time I made one!!!!! :P

Hadn't seen this topic in a while.

As I'm always working on multiple projects, i started this one while working on the Davey thing. The steam has got me ; -)

Funny, I am trying also a setup with an old bench grinder. Not in the way you describe, but I use the axes, weight and bearings for my self rotating steamer ;-)

When I actually have something I will describe its failure or success ;-)

                  Too big gap?

I constructed this prototype of the fuelless heater. But it did not work.
I didn't try for running this for 5 minutes. I used some machine oil for 2 stroke engines.
At the bottom, there is a little ball. It can touch the bottom of the outside aluminum. The outside is aluminum. The inner cylinder is sheet metal from a eating can. The rod is welded on top of the can.

As far as I understand from reading about these things, you need a 3mm gap between the drums.

I done some looking around on shopzilla, looking at stock pots. All kinds and size's, stainless at cheap prices. Seams like they'd make a great outer shell or maybe rotor.

                        heater

                        Hello everyone
I found this forum from searching Frenette heaters... The thing is that I built this heater that sounds kinda like what you guys are trying to build, but the heater I have built gets up to temperatures around 300F. I am sure I can get higher Temps but I don't want to get to the flashing temp of the oil. Now the Oil I am using is vegi oil...just from the store. I have started the heater with the oil Temp at 50F @ 500 RPM and at 450 watts of power on the meter and as the temp rises the wattage goes down to around 50 watts @ 300F. I do have pic of the heater and some vids I have made. I will try to post them when I can do so. Feel free to contact me at any time.

I did not know anyone was selling plans for this heater. I came up with this design after looking up "Frenette heater" in a Google search, but like anything if you can think it so can someone else. Everything I could find about this style of heater was 2 drums with about 1/4 clearance between them. It all seemed like disinformation if you ask me. The heater I am running has NO emissions ans uses No fossil fuels not to mention you can run it on solar. Well to get to your question.. I maybe have around $300 into it so far. I have allot of other plans for other builds. I have learned allot so far with what works and what does not work. I would love to see the plans you have. I am posting all this info to see if anyone has ever really tried to build or want to build the heater. I am going to be using mine to not only heat my house in the winter but it will also heat my hot water and my pool and spa.
                              Thanks for the feed back.
