You do not have to prove something for it to be true. However, you do have to prove something for others to believe it true.

Handbook of Biomass Downdraft Gasifier Engine Systems

    Good find.

I came across this copy in emule a long time ago but never experimented with wood gas (gasifier) technology.

Here is an entire how to manual by the DOE on the basics of this technology. It is an older document but has EVERYTHING needed. The gasifier technology has evolved quite a bit but this document is worth having.

      Also here is more details.

      Bio-Truck Homepage

I really like this design, especially they way he then hooked it up to a generator!

It is a portable generator as well! Very sweet.

I have seen several designs, but I think I want to knock on these guys door because it is generation number 3 of this, these guys know what they are doing.

AU Biotruck News Another cool video here.

        Hi theremart,

I started a thread last month on a "wood gasification" you must have missed, there is also plans available from several of the web sites I quoted, one called a "GEK Gasifier" Gasifier Experimenters Kit has detailed (open source) plans in my post #4.

I remember reading a feature story about running a pickup truck on a wood gassifier in a Mother Earth News magazine, perhaps 25 to 30 years ago. I think it was even featured on the cover. That one worked, but I'm sure that there have probably been some improvements made since then. It's interesting to see that the idea has come around again.

Thanks for pointing that out. I just took a look at your links this morning, nice to know you can buy the whole kit finished for about $2,000.
