Could you put the coil, the capacitors and other parts to separated sections with no airflow and measure their temperatures before and after the test? Especially the coil.
I've read about devices transferring energy from ambient by magneto-thermal mean. Particularly OS:CD Motor - PESWiki and Transverter and Rotoverter.
If it is really so then the temperature in coil section should drop and in "other" section should raise. But you need at least very accurate IR thermometer (the price could go above 1000$, so I recommend to borrow one from somebody). It would be also necessary to cycle the process of charging and discharging to get noticeable results.
