  • HHO - Power questions

I have been trying to read up recently about the various ways to power your HHO cell...whether it be for gas boosting, or to create a mini-torch with. I was hoping to tap into some everyone's expertise to gather some facts, some opinions, and hopefully give idea to everyone else.

Has anyone experimented with different voltages and amperage's to power their cell? IE. 12V@ 10A, or 5V@30A without an electrolyte? In terms of high HHO production, is a a low Voltage, high Amperage circuit best for 2+lpm? What which Voltage and Amperage did you note as being your best production

I understand that the different types of cells will create different outputs...more or less looking for a rule of thumb, so to speak.

Has anyone had success using an inverter in their auto to replicate the setup in their house?

Can anyone help me with some basic electronic theory? This is where these questions come from. I was researching a way to create a lot of Amps to go through a smack booster with a minimal Volts, as I've been told this is ideal. I ran across lab power supply's and was intrigued. You can plug this device into your wall, and have a variety of power sources...12V@12A, 17V@6A, etc etc etc. What caught my eye was the ability to use 5V@ 22A.

Thinking this was a great idea (I am thinking mini-torch setup at the house), I decided to look into reliable, less expensive alternatives. At this point I came across an interesting article on wikihow.com. It is an article on how to convert a computer power supply into a lab power supply. I have a couple laying around the house, so I thought...why not? I end up getting a solid 22A from a 5V circuit. At this point I need to re-create my cell, bubbler, and wiring, and am wondering if this is a feasible idea?

If it is, how could you make this happen in a car or truck? My original idea was to wire n inverter to battery, then plug in this modified power supply to the inverter. Would the battery or inverter limit the amount of power the power supply could produce?

Thanks so much for your help, ideas, and opinions.

I look forward to the replies!

Hi Garrett, the rule of thumbs for the surface area to applied current/voltage to electrolyte density ratio's are in the open source engineer authored hydroxy course. http://www.panaceauniversity.org/Hydroxy%20Boosters.pdf
    Look in the faculty section.

Now i really want to see some one experiment with the kiker leads (Rosco's idea). That is some ting to look into IMO.

i'm having good success with a modified automotive alternator i can get almost any voltage i want from mine from 3v to 300v depending what voltage is used to charge the rotor. if i put 28 volts dc in i get out 32 volts ac across 3 phases which i bridge rectify back to dc and get 96volts and 30 amps. it makes my cell go crazy. not to mention my car is loving the the shot of hho which rises with the engine speed.
