Glad to see the retraction...

On this statement in that article:
"Siddall said that he did not know whether the retracted paper's estimate of
sea level rise was an overestimate or an underestimate."

That is kind of a false piece of logic in there where both choices are in favor
of rising sea levels. Why is there not the possibility of a drop in the sea
level - so that any estimate of rising, overestimate or underestimate could
both be wrong?

I don't know if it will rise or sink but having all options be a one way street
isn't very honest in my opinion.

Climate Data Compromised by Sensors' Proximity to Heat Sources

A critical cog in the machinery that drives the theory of global warming is a small white box not too far from where you live. Inside the box sits a thermometer that tracks the local temperature, which in turn becomes part of a data trail for the monitoring of climate change on Earth.
But there's a problem: Nearly every single weather station the U.S. government uses to measure the country's surface temperature may be compromised. Sensors that are supposed to be in empty clearings are instead exposed to crackling electronics and other unlikely sources of heat, from exhaust pipes and trash-burning barrels to chimneys and human graves.

The National Climate Data Center (NCDC) uses this massive network of sensors to determine daily highs and lows at the 1,219 weather stations in its Historical Climatology Network (HCN). The network has existed since 1892, but only in the last decade has it come under intense scrutiny to determine whether the figures it measures can be trusted.
For the past three years, a group of zealous laymen has visited and photographed nearly every one of the weather stations to determine whether they have been placed properly. And what they found is a stunning disregard for the government's own rules: 90 percent of the sensors are too close to potential sources of heat to pass muster, including some very odd sources indeed:
• A sensor in Redding, Calif., is housed in a box that also contains a halogen light bulb, which could emit warmth directly onto the gauge.
• A sensor in Hanksville, Utah, sits directly atop a gravestone, which is not only macabre but also soaks up the sun's heat and radiates it back to the thermometer at night.
• A sensor in Marysville, Calif., sits in a parking lot at a fire station right next to an air conditioner exhaust, a cell phone tower and a barbecue grill.
• A sensor in Tahoe City, Calif., sits near a paved tennis court and is right next to a "burn barrel" that incinerates garbage.
• A sensor in Hopkinsville, Ky., is sheltered from the wind by an adjoining house and sits above an asphalt driveway.
• Dozens of sensors are located at airports and sewage treatment plants, which produce "heat islands" from their sprawling seas of asphalt and heavy emissions.
"So far we've surveyed 1,062 of them," said Anthony Watts, a meteorologist who began the tracking effort in 2007. "We found that 90 percent of them don't meet [the government's] old, simple rule called the '100-foot rule' for keeping thermometers 100 feet or more from biasing influence. Ninety percent of them failed that, and we've got documentation."

Watts, who has posted pictures of the sensors on his Web site, SurfaceStations.org, says he believes that the location of the sensors renders their recorded temperatures inaccurate, which in turn brings some of the data behind global warming theory into question.
"It's asinine to think that this wouldn't have some kind of an effect," Watts told FoxNews.com.

Not Evil Just Wrong

Global warming alarmists want people to believe that humans are killing the planet. But Not Evil Just Wrong, a new documentary by Phelim McAleer and Ann McElhinney, proves that the only threats to the world are the flawed science and sky-is-falling rhetoric of Al Gore and his allies in environmental extremism.

The film drives home the realities of that extremism. "Turn off your lights. Turn off your heat when you get cold. Turn off your air when you get hot," one man on the street says. "And then think about that."

Not Evil Just Wrong warns Americans that their jobs, modest lifestyles and dreams for their children are at stake. Industries that rely on fossil fuels will be crippled if the government imposes job-killing regulations on an economy already mired in recession. Small towns in the heartland, like Vevay, Ind., will become bastions of unemployment and poverty. Breadwinners like Tim McElhany in Vevay will lose their jobs -- and will have to start borrowing money again just to buy bread for their families.

The damage that would be wrought is unjustified by the science. Not Evil Just Wrong exposes the deceptions that experts, politicians, educators and the media have been force-feeding the public for years. Man-made pollution is not melting the polar icecaps. The ocean will not rise 20 feet in a flash. And the only polar bears dying because of man are the ones who try to eat men.

McAleer and McElhinney debunk what for a time was the environmental movement's most powerful weapon of disinformation, the infamous "hockey stick" graph that attributed a supposedly unique burst of warming in the 20th century to humans. They also shatter the myth that the hottest years in the United States were 1998 and 2006. The hottest year was 1934, and the hottest decade was the 1930s -- when there were half as many people and no SUVs or jumbo jets.

But environmentalists like actor Ed Begley Jr. and Leo Murray of Plane Stupid, who appear in the film, won't tell you that. Instead, Begley sheds phony tears for ex-cons who are offered "green" jobs, and Murray decries air travel as the modern world's worst indulgence. Their hysterical claims have fooled many people into believing that carbon dioxide, an element that is essential to life, is poison.

Organizations like Greenpeace, whose excesses are roundly condemned in Not Evil Just Wrong by founding member Patrick Moore, persistently push the same kind of propaganda that prompted world leaders to ban DDT. They believed environmentalist Rachel Carson's doomsday scenarios about the mosquito-killing chemical, and millions of children in the Third World may have been infected by malaria and died as a result.

The documentary notes that the World Health Organization lifted its ban on DDT in 2006, but Al Gore and his allies will not accept that verdict any more than they will accept the science that discounts theories about global warming. They are determined to blame humans for everything.

Your tax dollars are funding "government research" for "climate change." That so-called "research" has been proven to be manipulated and falsified in order to squash facts and ban authentic research that refutes many of the "climate change" claims made by numerous government appointed sclientists and institutions. There is little to no evidence that "climate change" even exists. It is outrageous that our tax dollars are being spent researching a "science" that considers lies its primary proof.

Leading Climategate scientific spin-doctors have so far had to take little to no responsibility for their actions. Dr. Phil Jones of East Anglia's Climate Research Unit has stepped aside but not been let go. Jones admitted to "having trouble keeping research records" and later admitted he knew "climate change" was a farce. Dr. Michael Mann of Penn State is currently under investigation by his university. Mann fabricated climate change data and urged other researchers to delete possibly incriminating emails. Keep in mind these two men still have their jobs.

Making fraudulent scientific claims violates the primary ethics of the scientific community and taxpayer-funded research. But most importantly, these acts are possible research tempering and CIVIL AND FEDERAL CRIMINAL VIOLATIONS. Those responsible must be held accountable. They lied and altered data to indoctrinate America into believing in a false science. The men and women responsible for Climategate must be given the same consequences every other American citizen would face if they were in question of possibly committing civil and or federal crimes.

Senator James Inhofe (R-OK) is urging the Obama Administration to investigate Climategate and the confessions made by editors of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Fourth Assessment Report. The ICPP claimed in 2007 that the glaciers in the Himalayas are melting faster than any other glacial mass. This claim was made with no scientific study; instead it included a reference to an article written by The World Wildlife Federation, an organization that fervently supports and promotes the false science of "climate change." To make matters worse, the math they used to calculate the melting of the glaciers in the Himalayas was incorrect. In essence the IPCC used faulty mathematical equations to come up with their fake conclusion and did not even bother to do something the rest of the scientific community is quite familiar with, a scientific study.

All Senator Inhofe wants is simple: an investigation into why and how those entangled in Climategate were allowed to fabricate research and if their false claims warrant civil and criminal penalties. So far, the Democrats have blocked all efforts from Senator Inhofe to investigate "climate change." It is disturbing that Senator Inhofe's pursuit of truth and just consequences is being blatantly ignored and disregarded by the Left.

For years sclientists that were Global Warming Skeptics were ridiculed, laughed at, scoffed at and smeared in the media and scientific community. How dare someone label Global Warming as anything but scientific fact? Of course anyone who questions Global Warming must be an Earth-Hater.

Turns out...They were right to be skeptical. Truth is they were not skeptical enough. The skeptics questioned the science - they should have also questioned the sclientists.

The scientific community has been profiting from huge grants and growing political power by propagating the fear of human extinction because of the global warming myth.

The potential for raising tax money over nothing, difficult to control or monitor, and power to choose who pays how much... Surprised they haven't jumped on the carbon economy (anything, has got to look like an improvement).
