It seem like research science these days, is about find a way to prove, whatever your employer is funding, truth and facts are of little value, compared to grant money. The Global Warming guys, don't deny, that this trend is going to continue, regardless, they only hope to slow the rate, buy sometime. They won't admit that this is natural or normal occurrence, that man has only a tiny, if any influence in the rate of increase. Wasting time and resources, to fight something far beyond our means and understanding, makes little sense. We should spend the time preparing and adapting to the warmer climate.

I moved from a snow-capped mountain in the northwest, all the way down to sunny Florida, and survived just fine. Pretty sure the rest of the planet will do just as well. Personally, I believe the increased global temperature will turn out to be a great thing for life on this planet. The lower end of the food chain thrives on a warmer, humid climate. Most everything else will, as well (except Al Gore's pet Polar Bear).

We've been hearing about over-fishing the oceans, destroying coral reefs, and killing all the whales for decades. Got me to wondering about a natural source of CO2, that doesn't come up much. Plankton, are a group of small animals, which most sea creatures feed on, in very large quantities. Some species of whales live off it almost exclusively, coral does as well. Seems like if there are fewer consumers in the ocean, plankton is left to over populate, and emit CO2, 'at an alarming rate'. Wonder if plankton population correlates well with the 'Hockey-stick graph'. Doubtful it's considered, since its not man-made, or taxable, much like the bulk of the 'greenhouse' sources.
Have always found it amusing that all natural or non-taxable sources of greenhouse gases, are classified as 'carbon-neutral', and discounted. Only man-made CO2 is causing global warming... Doesn't really look like greenhouse gases actually cause warming anyway.

I wasn't too concerned about Global Warming, just an Eco-trend, until the carbon tax talk started. Every penny will only get passed down, spread out, but adds up for the average consumer. We are already looking to take a huge hit, with Health Care Reform. Can only hope the next President can stop it, before mandatory insurance can kick in. Employers should offer the option, the individual should be free to choose how to spend/save their paycheck. The Carbon Tax, would be just added onto pretty much everything we buy and use.

Just like the Health Care drama, seems like it's already been decided, just a matter of selling it to the public, in such a way as not to cause excessive violence or rebellion.

The average global temperature is the least of our worries these days, or the coming years.

Harvey, will the next US president be part of a different clique, with a different real agenda than Obama? First, Obama will be re-elected. Heck, the US people even re-elected junior Bush. They ought to stand up and ask for a viable candidate, someone with proven good intentions. Oprah for president!

Over-fishing does concern me. We are too good at fishing. We eat it a lot. Fishermen have a hard time finding fish, despite high-tech and experience. Every fish caught leaves a lot of plankton to burp out CO2. Although this doesn't really effect the temperature on earth (that would be disregarding the 12000km across hot metal and rock we sit on) , it does show that it's causing a chance, possible one we don't want. Fish keep the seas clear and clean. Woods keep out air rich of O3, better to let those woods stay than to replace them with ski resorts and burger farming.

A CO2 tax on fish might have a more desired effect on global eco systems than CO2 on all directly man-caused exhaust. BUt we know, this carbon tax is not about the environtment, it's about power shifts, away from man, towards banks, by-passing national governments.

Overall, carbon taxing and the reason it's implemented for, is an insult man's intelligence and sovereignty. We ourselves are the caged cows, chicken, etc that we eat. As long as we think we're the bad guys, we'll pay our taxes.

UN Climate Talks open in Bonn

Hi Folks,

Here's a new article from the BBC about the new round of Climate talks opening today in Bonn, Germany. Here's a great quote from that article:

"As a well-known politician once said, the one thing we learn from history is that we never learn from history," said Tosi Mpanu Mpanu from the Democratic Republic of Congo, speaking for the Africa Group of nations.

"The Africa Group believes that if we are to avoid a repetition of Copenhagen and repair this damaged process, then we must learn from Copenhagen."

And one of the lessons to learn, he continued, was that breaking away from formal inclusive negotiations and instead focusing on "a secret text put together by a selected few fundamentally broke the trust that is necessary for any partnership that aspires to be successful and enduring".

Here is a very interesting article from the BBC about a NEW think tank and its recommendations for future climate change policies.

The idea is to repackage the whole debate and resell it to the public. This time, they want to regulate diesel engines and wood burning because of their release of "black carbon" into the atmosphere. Never mind that "wood burning" is really a "carbon neutral" renewable resource.

Sorry, but supporting "wood burning" as a viable energy source, as another means of attacking the "climategate" people, is frankly absurd.

Look, everything the "pro-global warming" folks say need not be automatically attacked

There is a very old trick, to sow some truth in with lies; this is always used by whatever propaganda is being pushed. These Truths, simply because they are associated by the perpetrators with the lies, should not be automatically discounted.

The burning of wood on a mass scale, is one of the worst things we can do for the environment (partially because of the huge destruction of trees which are critical to the maintaining of a healthy ecology), but also because of very nasty pollution including heavy metals and complex carbon compounds which cause cancer). This pollution has nothing to do with total "CO2" levels in the atmosphere, either.... Let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater

When i see this stuff, i must consider this question, as should you all:

ARE THE ANTI-GLOBAL WARMING PEOPLE REALLY AGAINST "CO2 REGULATION", OR AGAINST ANY POLLUTION CONTROLS?

There's an "inconvenient truth" for you

And that is the question. Personally, i think "your" movement has been hijacked by the oil and coal corps, and is being taken to such a far-out stance that the answer to the above question will soon be: "We are opposed to ANY climate or pollution controls that would, 'coincidentally', also endanger Big Coal and Oil".

Think about that.

There are literally 10's of TRILLIONS in easy monopoly profits at stake, as long as the current energy paradigm stands. Is it "silly" to consider, that these people will DO ANYTHING to maintain those profits and the vast control over society that they now ILLEGALLY enjoy?

Of course they would.

And taking over a movement like this, and perverting it to their own ends, is child's play to them.

You know folks, when you go to a store to buy some stuff, you don't have to buy one of everything to get what you want or need

Reject the pro-oil & coal stuff, reject the corporate propaganda that says all regulations are "bad"(obviously, all regulations are not "bad" otherwise we would have destroyed our environment ALREADY years ago via greed and hubris)... and JUST focus on the CO2 atmospheric levels, and the science behind it.

That way you can't go wrong!

Personally, i do not subscribe to the Moctons' and Alex Jones' and the old weather man's claims about climategate, they take it way too far and are becoming absurd. But i don't subscribe to "Al Gore" either.... This is ALL a scam: A giant scam that has fooled folks on both sides. DON'T LET THEM WIN by allowing it to succeed... Where the aim is to perpetuate coal and oil use as fuels "forever" (as long as they can get away with it)... By poisoning the subject for everyone to such an extent, that nothing ever happens.

Take EACH point on its own merits folks... do not "buy everything in the store"

No they won't stop as they are part of groups funded by the bankers and secret societies which think they've got some kind of right to force the rest of us to live as they see fit. Pathological liars are predictable and once identified should be treated as such. They've gotta get a mechanism in place to unite their disparate governing structures if they are to have their "one world government". All I know is that I will continue to live as free as possible and continue to ignore the laws which turn non-criminal behavior (ie: that which does not involve murder and thieving and fraud) into crimes. Functioning outside of their systems isn't as hard as people might think it is, and it is actually quite empowering if you have community members willing to work with you outside of their systems; which if most of you will note, require the attitude conditioning, AKA brainwashing, of local populations at a young age, on through to young adulthood, in order to control the elicitation of desired attitudes required to sustain their violence backed rule.
