  • Propane vehicle conversion information

Here is a link for some providers of propane conversion kits...

    http://www.propanecouncil.org/upload...ng%2011-08.pdf

It does require a on board tank. However this is a alternate fuel that warrants investigations

From what is out there it is more common to find kits for carbureated models however more and more there will be Fuel Injections.

If its anything like appliances switching to natural gas from propane is simply changing a orifice

    Unfortunately, no

"If its anything like appliances switching to natural gas from propane is simply changing a orifice" Its more complicated, and expensive than that.Particularly since conversions are typically to end up with the car being able to run on either gasoline or propane, with a simple switching system.Actually I've got a crazy idea. Ya know the system for running your car on compressed natural gas? Costs ya a couple of grand, for the compressor to install in your garage, and the high pressure "fuel tank" to install in your vehicle. And, if everyone converted, that would just raise the price of natural gas. But suppose you fed the compressor with a hose, (with suitable 1-way valves, etc. that drew methane gas from the SEWER system? After all, Natural gas IS methane! I've wanted to try this on a small scale with a generator, a hose, and a bong-type bubbler. Start it on gasoline, hook up the hose, shut off the gasoline, and see if it will keep running.Probably violating all sorts of safetry regs, unless there's a loophole in that no ones ever thought of/tried it, so they haven't made any rules against it! If you resisted the urge to 'tell the world' might just get away with it! After all, your not stealing. Sewage treatment plants think of the sewer gas as a nuisance. By the way, the way they eliminate it, safely, in many plants, is by feeding it to large, diesel engines. They use them to operate various pumps, etc. but the main reason they do it is its the SAFEST way to get rid of the gas.Why don't they feed it into the natural gas distribution system? Don't ask me!! Jim

        propane conversion unit for sale

If anyone lives near Northern California, about 2 hours NW of Sacramento, I have an old propane conversion unit out of an old carbed Toyota pickup. Has 40 gallon tank about 1/3 full. Will sell all cheap for $200. Allows you to switch form gas to propane on the fly. Have now newer FI Toyota that I thought I would adapt, but realize I will never get around to it.

          Propane carb

I just bought this propane carb I plan on experimenting with on embay that is well worth a look into . it makes putting propane on fuel injected cars real easy. Really cool gadject has variable orfice for both fuel and air that is regulated by the air flow as you push the gas pedal.
There is a manual avaliable also on the listing here on ebay, the reason I bought it is I am going to try to use it with gasoline vapor generator I plan to bulid some day.

eBay Motors: BLOS - Propane carburetor - LPG mixer - upto 200HP NEW! (item 160299975861 end time Dec-20-08 15:51:30 PST)

            @vzon17

Thanks for the link. Looks very promising. Yes, should work on any vapor system. Probably also for the GEET system as well. It would solve the mixing problem for variable load engine for automotive that a geet system has. Their best results so far seem to be fixed speed engines?

This is also might be answer to the hydroxy people trying to override the CPU of the fuel injection system to lean or richen the mixture. Just add this to to the intake of the FI and maybe turn off the FI system after warm up? What could be better than no CPU or injectors to worry about.

Please give us some feedback on the progress of your vapor system.

              Propane Triumph MC

Years ago a friend converted a Triumph Trident Motor Cycle using the traditional propane arrangement...
It ran great and if not for the gas storage issue would have been fantastic. This was done around 1979 after the last oil company fiasco with high prices. Some folks thought this dude was crazy....

                Multi-fuel

                Hey Guys,

You might want to check out Intergalactic Hydrogen Home Page

Awhile back Sterling Allen interviewed the guy behind this outfit on his Free Energy Now radio show/podcast (look for the archive) and he was obviously very knowledgeable on the ins and outs of these conversions....the overall situation also.

Anyway, the thing he was recommending was choosing components for conversion that would allow using propane, natural gas, or hydrogen as they are similar. This provides the ability to use whatever is most available in the area as one travels about.
