  • Need help with SCR/Cap dump?

    Hi All,

Been away for awhile and probably have some catching up to do, but after building a couple of Bedini's SSGs, the last thing I wanted to try was the SCR/Cap recharging circuit, using the SSG's that I had built.

After searching around l came across, "Schematics Illustrated", at "fight-4-truth.com". On one of the pages I found a schematic that looked like what I was after. But, I couldn't find any further details about the capacitor or the SCR values being used in the circuit for the discharging.

Has anyone else tried to replicate Mr. Badertscher's circuit? Or, is there another circuit available to do the same thing without having to use a Trifilar coil? As I said, I've been away for awhile, so any help/direction appreciated?

Scr dump from cap with neon trigger

I used a circuit with neon to trigger scr to dump from cap into battery but only tried using it with radiant detector circuit. In my case, the radiant just kept flowing without any detectable pulse or triggering of scr? I've been meaning to go back to the circuit, but haven't. Here's a drawing of schematic:

    Deep thoughts
Atoms move for free. It's all about resonance and phase. Make the circuit open and build a generator.

      Hi Ray,

Ive hooked up like this before. Make sure you check your connections, as it is a little unconventional. The Bridges negative hooks up to the negative of the Running Battery. The positive goes to the capacitor (Use HV low uF, preferably non polar, or Lower Voltage High uF). The other terminal of the capacitor goes to the Negative of the Charging battery AND the positive of the running battery. So essentially the batteries are still hooked up the same but the capacitor stores/converts the spike.

You will have to look around at your local shop/spot for a suitable scr. If you are going to place an order for something just match Erwins specs, 16 amp 800v SCR. It should have a gate, anode and cathode.

Your third winding can go straight to the bridge if you llike and you can totally remove your output diode off the transistor. Or there are other ways it could be configured.
