I don`t now why it works, must be hysteresis of the core, the core retains the magnetization and at the on pulse (on the mosfet) the magnetization of the core is released into the coils , producing currents and repelling the magnet.

If your circuit is based on the same principle as patmac's then the first graph I posted seems to be a reasonable explanation for the lack of drag."Theory guides. Experiment decides."

I think that the energy remains stored in the core. This is called Hysteresis, is like a magnetic memory or magnetic momentum, when the magnet hits the coil the core remains magnetically charged until it reverses his polarity.
Good work sephiroth.
With an air core coil the phase of the voltage is the same that of the magnetic change, or in other words the change is instantaneous, there is no delay. A high hysteresis core will remain charged, if no current is used in a open loop circuit. The switching of the generator coils must be at TDC, the switching of the power coils must be at little away of TDC , just to give the rotor a direction.
The coil is charged like a cap.Last edited by darkwizard; 01-26-2009, 01:55 PM.

Is like a memory, that is the answer. The core remains magnetized, in a open loop / path.

Are you saying current isn't induced when you wave a magnet over a straight length of wire?
Think about it."Theory guides. Experiment decides."

I'm not saying that. What i am saying is simple. When the north leaves the current is opposite.
At the same time there aren't two currents opposite.
When you put a magnet inside the coil, the currents starts only if there is a closed path / loop. In an open path there isn't current.Last edited by darkwizard; 01-26-2009, 03:20 PM.

In this case, when the magnet is at TDC, voltage is being induced in two polarities at the same time... therefore voltage is zero at TDC.

Ok... how about this for a test... if the voltage is proportional to the magnetic field strength in an air core coil (and not a ferrite core coil) then a Bedini SSG circuit can not work without a ferrite core.
What if I made an air core bedini motor and showed you exactly the same wave? Would you be convinced?"Theory guides. Experiment decides."
