  • Hi folks, Hi joit, thanks for the tips, I'll probably try different things for switching and your ideas will be one of them.
Here is a pic of the motor so far, it is only the bottom half coil and I just need to assemble the structure around it, which I already have built from previous project and make a switching setup.
I tried it as is just to see what kind of torque it might have and at 36 volts, it is very powerful, very hard to stop it from wanting to crank around.
It is 24 awg magnet wire and around 18.6 ohms for the bottom half coil, which is almost a pound/lb. Let me know what you folks think.

      Brother Ash,

Have you seen my hybrid? YouTube - ‪Bedini-Newman Hybrid 5-1‬‏

The Newman motor does not have generating coils which does not make it a complete hybrid of the 2 principals.

      • Hi folks, Hi ussedman, nice video you made, thanks for sharing. Have you seen any charging of the source battery with your newman motor setup.
I mounted my newman rotor and still have to mount and secure the coil and bring it up to the proper height with some spacers underneath.
Interesting thing, I just manually pulsed it as shown with 12 volts and had a volt meter across the 12-7ah sla and it consistently was showing the battery voltage spiking up to between 13.5-17 volts.
Interesting considering It's just the coil connected across the battery and no diode for any kind of recovery.
Though the battery is getting spikes from the coil, or it's from the magnet moving. If it's from a coil spike, how is that possible, since the battery is disconnected when the coil collapses, maybe it happens on reconnection as coil may still be collapsing at that moment. Here is a pic of it so far.

        • Hi,
you still get one Pole from the Batterie connected, depends, if you break Plus or Minus, so, one Pole get a Spike, i did charge a Batterie once only connected with the Minus to the Coil, and had a second Batterie, which did run the Newman.
So not necessary, that both Poles are Connected. But evenwhen it is not permanently connected, the moment where the Batterie switch off, is enough, to create a charging effect.
Me at all, dont really believe in Pumping Stuff into a batterie, to charge it.
It does looks more like, its a alignment from the Medium in the Batterie with the Help of Current, even, that it only creates a chemical Reaction and a aligment of Material at the Batterie like North and South poles,
like moving a magnet fast away from a piece of iron, and you did align it too.

Theorizer are like High Voltage. A lot hot Air with no Power behind but they are the dead of applied Work and Ideas.

            just my input here

i don't know if this device is a real Newman machine but it works very well sofar

            good luck at all

            • Hi folks, Hi joit, thanks for your thoughts, yes that sounds like what is probably happening, overlooked the fact that the other wire is connected.

Hi woopy, thanks for sharing that video, I do enjoy watching all your videos.
I have been watching the thread at heretical and your results and teds are looking good for the christmas motor design.
I will post in this thread, since I'm not building the christmas type as of yet.
Though I will post there if I have anything to offer or questions.

I did a quick test run before anything on my motor was even secured down, I used the bearing collar screw as a commutator and two wires close together.
It was getting some good speed and the sparks were a bright white at 36 volts.
All I have left to do is make a commutator or switching setup.
Here's a pic of the small newman motor fully secured down. Though I may remove those threaded rods, as the rotor magnets seem to be interacting with them too much.

              • Hi folks, well I thought I would start out with what I had on hand and fairly simple, I used the bedini trigger circuit with an external air coil to switch my newman motor.
It works very well, though I'm using the rotor magnet to trigger the air coil and It only fires briefly twice per revolution, so the torque is not that impressive using 24 volts, It was using around 300 milliamps with maximum finger load without stalling rotor.
Though it does attain a very fast rpm, The two pulses are so short it doesn't make much torque or the transistor is not fully saturating.
What is interesting about the bedini circuit with this, is that it works and gives two pulses per rotation instead of just one, compared to if I used a reed switch with only one battery.
Let me know what you folks think. I'm going to make some more tests with this and then think up a mechanical commutator/ switch setup.
                peace love light
