  • George Green's magnetic motor

    Hi all,

Just read in a dutch blog about George Green's magnetic motor:

Project Camelot | George Green's magnetic motor

Anyone heard of it before? Seems to be interesting.

Been around for some time now

Yeah, this concept has been around for a while now. I will see if I can dig up some more info on it for you. The main concept behind this is actually a really interesting effect, and may have some application of some kind. Unfortunately, the effect only happens with slight movement of the ring. It is not something that can continue on it's own, it must be held by hand with minute movements. I'm sure there is some applications that this can be used for, but personally I have not really thought of much more than a desk toy at the moment, unfortunately.

        Did you tested it ?

Actually i see an amplification of the energy, because the hand movement is little, but the rotation of the device results in a larger movement.

          Maybe that device is overunity.

            I made one

I made one a while back. I have to admit that it does APPEAR to show amplification because the movement is very minor that causes the rotation, but I believe it is sort of an illusion. I did most everything I could think of to try and mount this so it would continue to run on it's own. I never could get it to work unless I held it. I am not saying it can't be done, I'm simply saying I tried my best, and I personally could not do it. I wish I still had it, so I could video it for you guys and show you what I saw. I gave it to my ex girlfriends son to play with when I was done with it, lol... oops...

It is very easy to build though. Anyone with a genuine interest can build this in a couple hours time at the most. I did it by using magnets from radio shack, a steel ball, a ring magnet, and I cut a piece off of a PVC pipe. It was really simple, and I do recommend you make one for yourself as a great learning experience! You will see what I mean pretty fast, and who knows, you may have more luck than me! Discoveries are made at the bench, not in a forum..
