  • As for the Slovenia balls they aren't supposed to bounce. A spring on the back of the smack plates is to convey the bounce energy into the direction the wheel is spinning. Sounds like you made a great effort!

Perhaps if I did better drawings like you have done, and showed them to the right people like you are doing, perhaps someone would notice my car engine that never needs fuel... that I explained on the last page, page #7.

      • This is a new cad drawing I just did last night after some long thought and my friend the engineer, just happened to come by for a visit. I do think the Slovenia wheel has potential, I just couldn't get mine to selfrun. I would like to show you the cad drawing to get your input as well, but right now I can't get it to upload for some reason. When I figure out what's going on I will try posting it. I hope yours gets going soon as well. I wish I had the time to build all of them to experiment with. I like your designs, and want to build some of them when I get the chance. Good Luck. Stealth

        • A Time to Build and a Time not to I reckon

Well, Stealth, we each have our plusses and our limitations but at least the clock is fair to us. We all have 24 hours a day. I finished making my new uprights, secured them to the board and got the new axle rig mounted yesterday. It is extremely friction free this time and spins like greased lightning.

I have to make some pieces from wood now, instead of using the brass hinges. If I drill through the dowel axle I might upset the balance so instead I'm going to make a triangle wood piece around it and screw the rods to it or into it. Then I have to make some other wood piece for the next junction.

I'm going to make it simple the first time around with just opposed rods, but if it needs three at 120 degrees I'll have to take all that off and start over again. Time? Time runs into days and weeks making stuff by hand.

I could have stayed with my first design using the brass hinges. With the advances I made in the axle friction issue it would probably go ahead and work for me. This new design though, if it works as expected I believe the other fellows can add it to their designs and it will help theirs through the rebound spots they have encountered.

I hope this one is running by Tuesday. If not, I'll learn why and apply it to the 120 design.

          • Good to see you are on track to finishing your gravity wheel. I know we all suffer setbacks at times, and it gets frustrating. Even some of the greatest inventers of al time had major setbacks. Their claim to fame was that they never gave up, despite all odds against them. I have built and tested many gravity wheels and magnetic wheels. I have come close on several occasions, but have yet to achieve OU. It is hard to break that OU barrier. Everything has to be in perfect alignment, and precisely engineered to overcome the perfect balance that nature has achieved. Good Luck. Stealth

              • Stealth: That was why I liked the 2nd wheel I showed back on Pg 7 <> it had two bumps then a breather, two bumps then a breather. I think that is like two systems in one and allows the disharmonics of each to be broken up, and yet they are both using the same smack wheel system.

I'm actually not frustrated at all. My design that I built came especially close. The main thing stopped it from working was the axle was too much friction. It came very close. It turned a couple turns where it almost picked up speed and for that instant it was truly glorious to see. I've got it licked when I get to it. The hinge weight was too close an angle, so that when one arm was doing its thing it was dragging the other hinge too far down, which meant it had to climb too far back up on the next shot.

For that instant it actually jumped to a higher speed, like someone mashed the Trans Am pedal to the floor. Once you've seen that in a gravity wheel you know it can be replicated. It isn't frustrating at all knowing you've already seen what the end of the tunnel looks like.

It looks like Buckaroo Banzai going through mountain rock.

                • It will be a momentus ocassion when you, or someone else, finally breaks the gravity wheel dilema. I hope one of us gets one going soon. It has been a thorn in the side of inventers for a long time now. It has not been for lack of effort that they failed. There has always been one element to overcome that escaped their grasp. I hope you have found that one missing element that's needed. It will take some time to get mine working, as I have to make out a material list, then go get the materials. Maybe next weekend I can start on mine. Good Luck. Stealth

                  • You have plenty on your plate with the pool pump... but, the people at Lowe's will be glad to see ya. Northwest True Value. Home Depot.

Maybe you're supposed to say something like Open Sez a Me, or
You will bow down before me Jor-El, both you, and one day, your heirs.
This one is shaping up to look much better than the first one
so maybe I can avoid the begging and crying part.

                      • Yea, they are getting to be pretty well aquainted with me at Lowe's. I have so many projects just waiting to get started. I am finding it hard to get what I need to even start sometimes. I have redesigned the Hydro-gravity engine, made it more efficient, and then redesigned it again, and did away with the water altogether. Now I have three versions to contend with. Always trying to improve upon my own designs. I guess it's that way with you ,too. Good Luck. Stealth

                        • I believe this design is the great granddaddy of them all. I ran out of flat washers and need some real wire nails instead of the wire I used. Looks like Lowe's is making plenty of money off us. But, I rooted around in an old box and came out with my really great jigsaw. I still like the hand power saw I got from Lowe's too.

                          • My first wheel only had one positive bump coming down on the left side. This one has two, which I knew already, so I was very optimistic, but this afternoon when I was building on it I saw where it has a pendulum action come in a sleeper slamming it in the butt as it passes 6 o'clock. If it doesn't work the laws of gravity don't exist.

                            • Your swimming pool might be angry with you for doing away with the water... Personally I think it's a pretty good trick to have a Hydro machine without any hydro.

                              • Sounds like you are close to getting it running. I haven't even started working on mine yet. I am still waiting on my stainless steel pipe. If it don't arrive soon, I guess I will make yet another trip to Lowe's to buy PVC pipe instead. I just don't think PVC can stand the pressure though. Good Luck. Stealth
