  • The Kawai Motor

    Hi all,

    I noted on Thom Bearden's site he mentioned an over-unity motor by Kawai, an Hitachi engineer:

    The Tom Bearden Website

    "Two Kawai-modified Hitachi engines were rigorously tested by Hitachi engineers and produced COP = 1.4 and COP = 1.6 respectively. The Kawai process and several other Japanese overunity systems have been blocked from further development and marketing."

    So, I looked up the patent mentioned by Thom:

    United States Patent: 5436518

    esp@cenet — Original document

    What is interesting, is the status of this patent:

    esp@cenet — INPADOC legal status

    --::--
    PRS Date : 2003/09/23
    PRS Code : FP
    Code Expl.: - EXPIRED DUE TO FAILURE TO PAY MAINTENANCE FEE
    EFFECTIVE DATE : 20030725
    --::--

    That's right, according to the EPO website, this patent is expired since 2003, so, anyone can build and market such a machine in the US!!

    In Europe, we see a similar pattern:

    esp@cenet — INPADOC legal status

    All over Europe, EPO says: "LAPSE BECAUSE OF NON-PAYMENT OF DUE FEES"

    So, anyone with a production hall to spare, ....

      You can also download full pdfs from the European Patent Office site, Esp@cenet.

      You can search for patents, for example using the examiners name, or the patent number: esp@cenet — Advanced Search

      Then, for a certain patent, go to the page "original document", like:
      esp@cenet — Original document

      At the top bar, there is a link "save full document", which pops up a dialog where you have to enter a number that is displayed as an image (anti-robot), and then you get a full pdf. Works fine!

      BTW: The European version of this patent is at:
      esp@cenet — Original document

        Probably Vortex referred to the USPTO website where a tiff picture viewer is needed to see the images of any patent drawings.

        There are some freely downloadable tiff picture viewers like here:

        AlternaTIFF TIFF Plug-in and their only requirement is to (freely) register the software: AlternaTIFF is free to use for any purpose; however, you will be required to register it before it can be used to view images. You will be told how to register when you install it, or when you first use it to view an image. (You do not need to search this web site looking for a way to register. If you are not asked to register, it means your computer has already been registered.)

        If you do not wish to use AlternaTIFF then you may search for other tiff viewers on the net or use a free US patent download possibility in PDF file format here:

        PAT2PDF - Free PDF copies of patents: Download and print!

        This often gives better quality (a bit higher resolution) than the google patent service facility.
