Bill Gates is listed as one of the inventors of a new hybrid motor which incorporates moving coils coupled to the pistons:

Energy can not only be extracted from the combustion stroke, it can also be added during the other three phases of a cycle.

I especially like Fig. 6, which shows a free piston setup.

what fig 6 ? .. the only figure I see is BG's face.
Magnets are demagnetized by HEAT ..
This sounds like a money maker to me.

70% of the energy goes out the exhaust pipe
and from the 30% that is not wasted, moves the car,
that's going to create electricity, meaning the efficiency
of 30% will be reduced .. OK..

Now if it was creating electricity from the wasted 70% energy ..
that might be news.
