  • WARDENCLYFFE - Nikola Tesla's Labortory for "SALE"

    Howdy everyone,

Several days ago posted on “Tesla's wireless electricity transmission” by our fine member Altair (Guy) the disappointing and sorrowful news that the “Wardenclyffe” laboratory of Nikola Tesla in Shoreham (Long Island) New York, is up for “Sale” by the present owners, with all options on the table including demolition. The asking price for the 12 +- acres is approximately 1.6 million dollars.

New York Times May 5, 2009

As you all know by the topics and subject matter on this or any forum using “open source” engineering of old and new electrical and mechanical devices the name of Nikola Tesla is always on the top of the list even as others try to knock him off into obscurity. This maybe the only earthly structure that may be in existence that hasn’t been destroyed by time, covered up by cut throat competitors, greedy investors or by our own government, and we cant let this of all things in the science community be taken from us “we have lost enough already”.

Tesla's Wardenclyffe Laboratory for Sale, March 2009

I will in the next week be contacting the “Tesla Society” and see what we can do as a whole both here at Energetic and OverUnity Forums to help in the purchase process of this “gem” of science now in the rough. The cost is insignificant even at 1.6 million dollars it may sound like a lot of money to some but this is “chump” change for what it is, and there is money out there we just have to seek it out, and it won’t take long either.

There will also be people or organizations in the private, local, state and federal government to contact asking for help in a grass roots level that will need to be accessed to get this accomplished, and that means clear down to the science teacher for your kids if you have them.

Anyone having Ideas or links to web sites “PLEASE” post them here in this thread for the all members and the world to see, or contact me via PM with any information. If there is anyone else that cares to volunteer their efforts or just a little of there time into this more than worthy cause, now is the time to stand and be counted we need all the help and support we can get to do this right.

    Best Wishes,
    Glen

    Reply to Glen:

What a great museum this building would make, Glen, especially if some of Tesla's inventions could be displayed there along with photographs, video and such. I'd like to see the Tesla Society gain possession of it. Let us know what they say in response to your contact with them.

    Best regards,

    Rick

In the free energy communities, Tesla is our Godfather

Thanks Glen, for publicising this sad news.

I would like to point out that the reason why I think this building should be preserved, is that it is the last thing we have left to honor the memory of this genius.

All of us in the search for free energy owes to Tesla. He has been the most important figure in the development of new energy sources.

      Sadly, he has been discredited,
his research funds have been cutoff,
his Radio invention stolen by Marconi,
his dream of free power for humanity totally destroyed,
his inventions have been suppressed by the governments,
his name hardly mentionned in science history books,
and now they want to destroy the last remaining physical evidence of his life's work.

THATS THE MOST OUTRAGEOUS AND SENSELESS DECISION !

In just a few years, we will be entering a new era in the history of humanity, the one of free power.
WHO are we going to hail as the father of these benefits ?

Please, everyone, take the time to write a note to every related organization to let them know WHY you think this building should be preserved.

And post the adresses here for other member's benefit.

      Thanks

      Guy

        A little afterthought:

the owners of the land and the building surely do not know really who Tesla is, how could they? , his name is not in the history books !

Anybody not related to new energy sources probably do not know who Tesla is. That's what ?... 99.5% of the population of the earth?

That shows the importance of keeping this building and making a museum out of it. That way, people will begin to realize the importance of this man' work.

Sadly, most people's perception of Tesla is that of a crackpot genius who liked to play with lightning bolts. The PBS show (entitled "Telsa: Master of Lightning") didn't do much to improve on this perception, but that's not too surprising as they are purveryors of disinformation.

            reply to Rick

            Hi Rick,
Your Ohhh so right , this could and would make a excellent museum for anything of Nikola Tesla's it may bring out of the woodwork from a private party possibly a device that may be hard to find, or never been seen items of his as a donation in a completed museum. The organization with ultimate control would need to get rid of the attached buildings to the original structure, do something constructive with the remaining buildings, and have a plan of attack for reconstruction and remodeling with financial backing.

This is why I think getting a hold of "The Tesla Society" and the "Tesla Science Center" at Wardenclyffe, formerly known as Friends of Science East, Inc. to find out their intentions and go from there. I don't feel that this should drag on to long, and time is of the essence. The taxes on a empty lot is much less that one with buildings and if the present owners are in financial problems, demolition is a option that would be devastating in this case on just historical value as you are well aware.

I'll let you know what happens !!

            Best Regards,
            Glen

              Hi,
I'm fairly sure that the present owner's know the history behind the building they in different company names have owned the property since the 1940's I believe. The problem you bring up about few people really know who Tesla is is a very good one indeed, I guess it's now or never bringing this up to anyone that will listen to show the importance of Nikola Tesla's place in history, trying the best thats possible to make this happen for a outcome that science, history and Tesla himself could be proud of.

It is a very worthy cause; but remember that no historical preservation projects get anywhere without the great interest of the local community... We would have to get that local County's Historical Society on board to have any chance at all.

"Lowng Igland" = Rich over-bred snots (sorry for the nasty over-generalization lol but you get the point). Especially the ones who would be involved here... Not the best place to sell Free Energy. We would have to go with totally conservative reasons... They are probably already budgeted for saving the Vanderbilt summer home, or the site of J.P. Morgan's first outhouse lol. And New York State already has the site near Buffalo dedicated to Tesla (first Niagara dynamo), which won't much help either.

EDIT: Sorry, didnt see your great post.. Very nice info. Wow, is that the asking price, only 1.6 mil? That would appear very cheap for the area and size.

Maybe the route to go here is to get ONE wealthy interested party to spring for it. At least private hands are better than condo's.

Your right about the price and thats what worries me, because it's the price with structures or "not", the owner looks like he wants to get rid of it quick !!

Hmm from something i remember reading, i bet there are environmental skeletons buried (probably literally) on that property.... Maybe the U.S. EPA needs to have a look there first before any sales happen

It would at least scare off any prospects, and if the corporation did pollute, they deserve anything they get!!

I smell an article in the political blogs coming on this subject though; thanks again for the great info Glen! This deserves a shot anyway... Maybe some rich guy will see it and buy it.

Tomorrow i will start contacting the Realtor and Historical Societies and check it out.

                            Hey jibbguy,
Your right about the skeletons in about seventeen recorded areas so say some articles I've seen, the "Department of Enviromental Conservation" is the ones that cut a deal with the present owners. The only way to get the straight facts are from them I would hope ....
