Hi All,

I just came up with an idea based on combining very old gravity motor idea with new magnetic shielding technique on youtube.com here:

Youtube is going to pull this video for the fourth time. I suggest you download and save it. Once you make the shielded magnet, you use it with this idea of gravity motor:

You attach magnets with all N side facing out to the ends of the arms. The shielded stator magnet is placed where the hinge flips the end of the arm with magnet just past the shielded magnet. Coming in at a more oblique angle plus the shielding should encounter minimum opposing field. Once past the magnet, the arm is fully extended and enters the N field streaming from the magnet which then accelerates the wheel to bring the next magnet in line. I hope you get the picture in your mind of what I mean?

I am not in a position right now to help actually build this concept. Should not be difficult for backyard mechanic to make. I hope someone tries to build it and see if it works.

Thanks for picking up the ball on this one. Youtube is blocked in the country I am now staying. I can access, but with some difficulty, and not reliable. I now download what I feel is really important. Hopefully, things will improve for me later this year.

try using vuclip; it is for mobile phone internet but works on pc's - it searches youtube and metacafe etc and compresses the videos to .3gp for download. so it is also good for people with slow connections. just enter the linked youtube video name, or search by tags

Vuclip also blocked. I can access energetictube but after a short beginning the videos go into buffer mode and will not continue. There is no help section I can see on the site as to tweak the settings. I suspect firewall is detecting video stream and is stopping data stream? I will jump through the hoops and see if going around the FW will resolve the problems.

For Energetictube, It could be that the data bandwidth has slowed to a crawl as everything has to go thru FW? However, youtube is working just fine. Maybe the bandwidth on the energetictube server is slow?

Hi Tishatang. Sorry about difficulty at energetictube. Energetictube and Energeticforum are not officially affiliated. Energetictube is my project, currently i am having difficulty with server bandwidth issues. I need to upgrade my server and start actually spending some money on it in order to improve its performance. I have hopes for offering a compilation download of important technology video in the future, but for now i can hardly even back up the video database with out timing out (actually i can't!).

Just wanted to let you know that i'm going to upload some of the video related to this thread to energetictube. I'm finding that if you don't use full screen then the streams don't stall as much. :P Anyway they will be there shortly.

Anyway that is unrelated business and has little to do with this treads topic, which i am very interested in. I have ideas of incorporating shielded magnets to drive a bedini monopole circuit. I have a couple models to play with and just need some time to build something. Looking forward to see what comes out of this thread.

I have downloaded your video for reference. From just the one viewing, it seems to me the shielded magnet idea of this thread is what you need to try. In the Holy Grail video, the example is for a magnetic wheel and and uses like poles facing each other, they repulse each other. For your setup, I would try unlike poles facing each other where they attract each other. That way when the short arm starts to swing down from gravity, the unlike poles will attract further accelerating the arm past the stator magnet. The back side of the stator magnet will be shielded allowing the short arm to swing out as far as possible. You have to have a mount bracket for the stator magnet to adjust the angle of opening instead of parallel. Maybe you can use roller blade bearings for the short arm?

Energetictube is a great idea. I hope you solve the bandwidth problem. After youtube was blocked from me, I had no trouble accessing metacafe. All was fine until I uploaded a video to metacafe. After I uploaded that video I could no longer access metacafe nor could anyone else that I know of from China. Evidently, they have bots seaching for videos coming out of the country. I am reluctant now to upload any videos for fear of having my workaround discovered. So, it is good you are uploading this videos as a backup.

I wish you luck. It looks like you've taken the bull by the horns and going for it. Interesting concept you have there. If the rotation speed matched the natural resonant frequency of the short arm pendulum, you might have a run-away self-destruct mode? I guess we can dream and wish we had problems of actually having to throttle down and govern the speed. But, it is something to think about if in the future you built a rugged version and drove it with a motor to its resonant frequency. At which point maybe the motor could be disengaged as a self runner?

It just occurred to me that the shielded magnet idea may not work in your application? I am so used to the wheel concept always turning in one direction, I overlooked the fact that in a pendulum design, it has to work in the reverse direction also. When the pendulum reverses, there will be no opposition because it meets the shielded side initially. But, as it goes thru the gate, the opposite poles will prevent the pendulum from swinging all the way because of the added drag or attraction between the poles.

There might be the possibility of finding a sweet spot juggling all the variables? You have the design of the shield, the arc of the pendulum as it swings in and out of the stator, the distance and also the angle between the magnets. All is not lost because it seems to me the fact that the main rotor is turning in one direction will reflect back to the pendulum, so that one direction of its swing will be more favorable than the opposite swing.

actually any suppression of the swing of the pendulum towards the left works to our advantage. In your video, the rotation is clockwise. So anything that makes the pendulum swing further to the right and less to the left aids rotation. So, the one-way shielded magnet idea is a good thing.
