Hendershot Coil
Latest effort with the Hendershot Coil replication.
Here I'm trying to determine the resonant frequency of the tank
circuit using a short wave radio.
YouTube - Hendershot Fuelless Generator Coil Study
I'm realizing that Hendershot's coil is not a coilpacitor.
Its a coilpacitortenna -- The cylinder is also an antenna since
the inner cylinder is exposed like a mini dish.

Nagaoka coefficient
I have a new observation re: the Hendershot Coil
Since the coil is wrapped around a capacitor, with material
that is very diamagnetic (my case aluminum foil),
the Nagaoka coefficient is NOT that of AIR.
Hence, the formula for a cylindrical coil needs to have
a Nagaoka coefficient that is something on the order of .2 downto .1.
See
Inductor - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I remember reading Hendshot describing that the magnetic
field needs to be polarized. This was not exactly explained
beyond that.
By creating a coil with a very LOW Nagaoka coefficient,
you have to do more turns, yes, but you have
a different, perhaps non-linear, value for inductance.
Fascinating!!
I would really like those of you out there with better equipment
than I to confirm that the Nagaoka coefficient is indeed
less than 1 in this coil configuration.

thinking out loud...
In the old days of crystal radios, the old timers knew how to pull energy
from the antenna to drive their radios.
Impedance matching was key.
Armstrong came a long and invented the
Regenerative circuit
Regenerative circuit - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
which exploited an oscillation that was regenerative,
just under the CHAOS threshold.
It seems to me that for creating power, CHAOS might be good.
With Henderhot's Fuelless Generator, we see TWO tuned
circuits, which can't ever be exactly tuned the same -- and
in fact by tuning them 60 cps different, the BEAT you can
create would be 60 cps.
I wonder!!!

Hendershot has a funky solenoid / horse shoe magnet thingy.
I would like to throw out the speculation that what that is
is a PRIMITIVE Magnetron. Its purpose is to produce magnetic waves
which are easily received by his two "TUNED" coilpacitors
producing a positive magnetic feedback.
If everything is tuned correctly, it should regeneratively build power.
If you can keep the two "collectors" such that they are
tuned with a delta of 60 hz, beat frequency, then you have
nice source of 60 Hz waves which can BANG on your magnet
AND light your bulb.

The Earth's EMR
This is my latest video showing my attempt to "tune"
the Hendershot coil to 1520Khz, a frequency I found
to have a large Earth field NMR (EMR?) at my location on the planet.
This is true during the night.
During the day, an AM-BAND radio station comes alive on that
frequency.
YouTube - Hendershot Coil @ 1520Khz
My goal here was to get a high "start" voltage
and the Earth's EMR seems like a useful signal that is
always present.Last edited by morpher44; 07-18-2009, 07:45 AM.

Zero Inertia

is that he can allegedly create a SPIN -- ala motor -- yes -- but with
near zero inertia.
Spinning a great big mechanical thing is not the way to go
because there are forces of gravity to overcome, friction, heat,
etc.
But spin a FIELD and get the same GENERATOR like behavior... now you have something.
I think if you can avoid the pull of gravity in your machine, you have
a huge advantage.
It is not difficult to create a spinning plasma vortex. Let is go further and make a generator
from a spinning plasma vortex.Last edited by morpher44; 07-17-2009, 05:01 AM.

Beat Frequency
I've made another crude coil-capacitor in the Hendershot style.
I now have two that I attempted to tune to 1520Khz.
It occurs to me that there is no way that I could make them match -- and hence their respective oscillations will BEAT.
YouTube - Hendershot Coil Study (Beat Frequency)
Did Hendershot use this beat to produce exactly 60Hz?
It seems like a reasonable way to do it since mechanical
frequency changes are not precise enough.

honeycomb coil
The Hendershot material has another invention of his that he used to power little toys.
He kept mentioning "honeycomb coils". I had know idea what that was
so I had to do some research. They appear to be have been popular in radio engineering to produce a high-inductance, low-turn, more stable with respect to capacitance -- coil.

Reminds me of the '65 song Honeycomb.
