  • Compressed air Bike conversion

Guys a good mate of mine in India converted an existing bike to run on
compressed air, you can make it from the sun using the RV. Also this was done from open source info, a simple adjustment of the valve timing and carby can make an existing petrol engine do this. More info is on the page below

Inspired by Scot's The Pneumatic Options Research site, the following modified compressed air bike was constructed. This is the first time in India. This was a Mechanical engineering final year project by the students of L.B.S.C.E Kasargod. The students simply converted an existing petrol engine by the adjustment of the valve timing. Now It uses compressed air as fuel. The tank size is just 10L and it is filled with 150bar pressure. It works on just 5 bar pressure.

Despite this proof of principle being just for short range purpose only. It can
be improved more with modification (by also adjusting the carby etc). Existing
cars and bikes can be converted using this method and the power can come from the sun.

You still have to compress the air in the source tank, right?

Could you use the same idea to compress the air the first time?

Air motor to run the compressor to compress the air and then use the compressed air to run a motor that uses compressed air......

Interesting..... around and around we go..... eventually we will figure out how to get more out than we put in.....yipppeeeee......

    Be happy....

Not bad, from a heavy combustion engine.
I've seen some commercial attempt in this field I think. Might be yet another application for Tommey Reed's rotary piston engine design.
