PET bottles use in solar water heater

If you look at the pictures in the instructions manual, in Portuguese,
you'll see that the PET bottles have piping running through them which contain the water.
The PET bottles are only used for solar collection/wind deflection.

Pretty neat.. no glass or glass frames to build.

I have not tried to translate any of the instruction manual yet.

Another great find! Thanks for sharing this. The basic instructions seem simple enough. Cut the bottoms off the PET bottles and jam the top of one into the bottom of the next one. Run a pipe down through the whole stack, and place a black material on the back of the PET bottles, so the air in them heats up. This then heats the water in the central pipe when left in the sun. Then its just a matter of connecting the vertical pipes in parallel using T connectors on the top and bottom. Cold water enters the system at the bottom, and as it heats, it causes a convection flow that naturally rises to the top and out.

I love "low cost" "low tech".
