  • Highest magnetic saturation

    Hi

what commercially available material has the highest flux density - saturation value ?

I found 2.3 Tesla so far...

    Thanx

Mu Metal. Metglas. Those are only commercially available materials.

      diamagnetism

diamagnetism is like cryptonite to magnets.

It occurred to me today that if you were to surround your coil
with a diamagnetic SHIELD, you might be able to BEND the
magnetic fields INTO your coil, preventing magnetic energy leakage.

In other words, why not use TWO materials, one with high permeability and another with high diamagnetism -- when constructing a coil?

Carbon is a low-cost diamagnetic material and is MORE diamagnetic
      than copper.

      Carbon (graphite) Xm = -1.6
      Copper Xm = -1.0

Hence, it seems plausible to BEND field lines with Carbon materials.
