Don't really feel motivated to reupload the site since it will probably just become a target for recreational hackers again...

Three boards finished... just another three left

It runs well... decided to test it to breaking point so removed the charging battery while it was still running... lit a neon for a few seconds then popped a transistor. That was expected since the transistors are only rated up to 80v... replaced the neon with two 15v zener diodes in series, so that shouldn't happen again.

Fortunately, these transistors are dirt cheap and the circuit is laid out so they are easy to replace Another bonus is that the blown transistor was visibly damaged so it was easy to spot which one had blown

Runs well with just one half of the stators.... around 4500rpm on as little as 175ma at 12v, but can go over 6000rpm if I move the rotor away from the stators...

now just have to finish the other three boards *sigh*

        MG3 finished

        YouTube - MG3 : Pulse Motor Generator

These transistors are far too delicate. Going to replace them next week with 2N5551 transistors which are rated at 160v, 0.5 amps and good gain.

EDIT : No audio for some reason > will try uploading again!

Youtube doesn't like my camera so had to use a different one this one has audio but the video quality isn't as good.

          YouTube - MG3 : Pulse Motor Generator

And some pics to make up for the poor quality

MG3 is definitely more mechanically efficient than the MG2.

            Remember this video?

YouTube - Bedini Motors Have NO Torque!

            Results from the video:

            Original fan motor -
            3050 rpm at 416ma

            MG2 -
            3070 rpm at 417ma

Results from today using the same computer fan :

            MG3 -
            3110 rpm at 370ma

                Update to my plans :

Although the shaft is stainless steel, it is causing huge distortions in my waves, I'm guessing due to eddy currents.

Touching the shaft, or connecting it to earth, effects the waves.

Going to replace it with a carbon fibre shaft next week.

When I went to get stainless steel from a hardward store, I would take a powerful neo with me to test the quality of what I was getting. Some showed more magnetism than others.

                      Seph.

Really good work! --- Can you help clarify a few points on your build? What guage wire did you finally use on the MG-3 quadfilar? Also, does your video show you using the 2N5551 transistor, or is this in your next circuit build, since you mentioned this above? Have you figured if you are betting the 28% efficiency [most ssg's]?

Keep up the work... love following your lead and learning from everyone.

each coil uses 30 SWG wire (not awg) and has four power windings (200 turns). The inductance is a bit low, so I'm considering wiring the the coils so that there are two power windings with two pairs of windings in series so they will have twice as many turns. This will lower my top speed, but should produce better torque.

I haven't swapped the transistors yet... the zeners I added seem to be protecting the MPSA06 transistors ok, but if one does fry then I will replace them all with the 2N5551 transistors which are similar spec, but higher voltage.

About to start doing COP measurements, but I'm pretty sure that even with the steel shaft the charging COP will be above 28%

the 2N5551 transistors are CR@P! Looked ok on paper but in practice their gain is pathetic... going back to the MPSA06...

Anything we can learn to know it from paper to notice the big difference?
